  • Note that Fred Facey was the highest-placed African-American announcer in his career and one of the few African-American announcers ever to hold a lifetime contract with NBC.

  • 2/3/1980 was the airdate of this clip.

  • As to this video clip . . . it obviously had to be from Spring 1980, as that was when WNBC-TV added John Hambrick (as introduced himself at the end of the clip) and Sue Simmons to its roster of anchors. Only one of whom is still with Ch. 4 today.
