You should check the manufacturers web for more info on that, but commonly a vented kite will have screens (vents), or some open area in the sail. It will take more wind to get this kite off the ground, but you can fly it in much more wind at the high end. If you like fast and furiouser, then vented is the way to go, however, if you can't trick well in 5-10 mph wind, then you might want to just get a std kite.
