  • In a concert a few years ago, I had the great fortune to hear Tracy in one of his more electronic/loop moods, playing this stuff in a way that lifted the top of my brain, spun it around several times, and set back down in a much altered way. I am a surviving artifact from the times when large lizards walked around, and I actually went to LZ concerts -- and so I would like to say to cplaei, below, that you, sir, do not know what you are talking about.

  • Tracy, you were the 1st electrice violin player I had ever heard of or seen at a Jim Brickman concert... You BLEW MY MIND!!!! You ROCK!!! Long Live Tracy Silverman!! ;-)

  • I'm a violinist: North Indian classical style of imrov, ASTA, O Connor camp, Strings without Boundaries

Been playing electric violin for decades, pedals etc . I'm here with a world class guitarist & our jaws dropped upon watching/hearing you. You must have heard us becoming fans. We made some big noise as you launched in.

  • This is super....what every violinist (electric) longs to be able to do...melodic, shredding, looping all the accompaniments live (and accurately). Kashmir...WOW!!!

Amazing...taking the sweet violin thru the range all the way to rockin"!

    Wah Baby Wah

  • whats with the way he holds his violin? he doesnt hav a chinrest! iv neva seen sumthing like that before. wow hes amazing

  • great!!!

  • The loop pedal is just imba...

  • i have to say my favorie is kashmir

  • i got his autograph ^.^

  • Kashmir hell yeah

  • amazingggggggg ♥

  • woah... i tried to play black dog on my viola. compared 2 this guy, i have a ways to go!

  • I met him today also, he's cool

  • I met Tracy today in school and he played this!

  • @XxRinoa1xX just met him today at school also he is a kool dude

  • He looks a bit like Page.

There's nothing wrong in fretted violins - although it's not that hard to play frettless - playing fast thing may be difficult and stressful for people who hasn't learned to play without frets from very young age.

By the way, this violin has awesome distortion.

  • @Max0Inq he showed us today at my school only the bottom 3 strings have frets

  • @Max0Inq i think he looks like dio

  • @Estill01 Who is that?

  • @MusicAndLove217 uhh ronnie james dio the singer? that died unfortunatly to stomach cancer and never did a drug or drank in his life very sad

  • Dude--check out his wikipedia page. He graduated from Julliard. I think he's got one straight out of conservatory bow hold but you're right about the chin rest and vibrato which is exactly what makes it AWSOME!

  • @playergirl6150 he said the reason why it is like that is beacues he sings to and it is easier to hold it there i asked him that today

  • dont thumb me down for this guys but in my opinion he just looks like hes learnt how to play the guitar then bought a violin with frets, his bow hold is completely different than a traditional bow hold, he isnt using a chinrest and his vibrato is guitar vibrato not violin vibrato

  • Although it makes sense, you're completely wrong. Tracy is an amazing classical trained musician (studied classical violin at Juilliard School). He is a former member of the Turtle Island String Quartet, where he used to play regular acoustic violin. Also, this violin he's playing is fretted only in the lower 3 strings (I've played it myself) and up to the 3rd or 4th position. The upper 3 strings (it is a 6 strings instrument) does not have frets.

  • ahh fair doos man :) should have thought about it and checked his wiki :) just badly informed :) but in that case woohooo this guys awesome ♥

  • Yeah dude!! I met him over there in Savannah last night! He is AWESOME!!!!!

  • damn just met this tracy last night!! wooo.. and damn he is good:D

  • That was refreshing!

  • I got to see him live at my school too! It was awesome! I bought his Eclectica Streaming Video Soul cd and got his autograph. i recorded his led Zep medley on my cell phone but the quality is terrible. Great show

  • I got to see Tracy live today at my school!! His playing is even more captivating in person. Brilliant.

  • Awesome!!!

  • damn. lol

  • I want that violin

  • Hey nice playin at Valencia! Ur seriously hardcore :D

  • oh, fretted upheld balalayka with bts pickup..

though distorted sound is very nice - think of it,

    it is piezo.

  • Kashmir was made for Electric violin

  • I got to see him yesterday! Wearing the exact same thing..and using the same instrument.. lol

  • this is freakin sweet. I wonder how much that violin costs......probably more then my house

  • @CallMeTheWonderer $12,000 american dollars.

  • @CallMeTheWonderer its about 12,000 dollars he was at my school about 1 year ago and was talking with the kids and stuff but yeah about 12,000 dollars

  • @CallMeTheWonderer not more than a house actually, the typical electric violin ranges from 150 dollars to around 3,200 dollars. But the amount stacks up abit when you think about things like rosin, case, effect pedal(s), and amp(s).

  • @cocokitty55 first if anything about him he MADE that it is the worlds first 6 string electric violin. GET YOUR FACTS STRAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @xXAnnagoesrawrrrrxX i didnt say anything about that!

  • @cocokitty55 well shut ur trap i know him in person

  • @xXAnnagoesrawrrrrxX what the heck did i do to offend you sheesh?

  • @cocokitty55 nutin im setting ur facts strait

  • @CallMeTheWonderer couple of thousand at most.

electric violins aren't that expensive in comparison

  • Absolutely awesome.
