This is one of the most incredible things I've ever seen. I can watch it over and over. Led Zeppelin was before my time but I can certainly appreciate an amazing musician like this. We were blessed to see you with Jim Brickman and I was soooo hoping you guys would come back to Orange, Texas again because there are so many people that we would love to bring to witness this. You are incredible! Please come back! =)
Hi, i'm Caleb Rohrer, you're coming to my school in Orange City Iowa to give a concert and play at Northwestern college, and I'm signed up for the master class with you... so, yeah... when ya show up i'll be the only asian kid in the school going to the class...
i live this song Ive been fallowing you in your foot steps. I always wanted to be a famous violin player it is my life long dream. Your my hero if people ask me I say "Tracy Silverman all the way Ive always wanted to be in his foot steps"
@cplaei brah you don't know what you're talking about he was at my school today and even the kids who don't know what the fuck music is loved it i think your one of those kids that sits in the back of the cafeteria and eats everybody's scraps because your garbage :D TS FTW
In a concert a few years ago, I had the great fortune to hear Tracy in one of his more electronic/loop moods, playing this stuff in a way that lifted the top of my brain, spun it around several times, and set back down in a much altered way. I am a surviving artifact from the times when large lizards walked around, and I actually went to LZ concerts -- and so I would like to say to cplaei, below, that you, sir, do not know what you are talking about.
Tracy, you were the 1st electrice violin player I had ever heard of or seen at a Jim Brickman concert... You BLEW MY MIND!!!! You ROCK!!! Long Live Tracy Silverman!! ;-)

Kick ass vid - purist & clear -***** stars - . well on the guitar - you can not do it better , ? -not the point ! I love when it kicks , in , raw and just holy shit - sound and continued impro ! , god this is the top of the bill -My compliments ! Fantastic ! :)) gus
This guy is really cool live. I was at a workshop he did and my college Jazz band played along with him on a few reads and then we just jammed out improv on the blues.
I'm a violinist: North Indian classical style of imrov, ASTA, O Connor camp, Strings without Boundaries
Been playing electric violin for decades, pedals etc . I'm here with a world class guitarist & our jaws dropped upon watching/hearing you. You must have heard us becoming fans. We made some big noise as you launched in.
This is super....what every violinist (electric) longs to be able to do...melodic, shredding, looping all the accompaniments live (and accurately). Kashmir...WOW!!!
Amazing...taking the sweet violin thru the range all the way to rockin"!
There's nothing wrong in fretted violins - although it's not that hard to play frettless - playing fast thing may be difficult and stressful for people who hasn't learned to play without frets from very young age.
Dude--check out his wikipedia page. He graduated from Julliard. I think he's got one straight out of conservatory bow hold but you're right about the chin rest and vibrato which is exactly what makes it AWSOME!
dont thumb me down for this guys but in my opinion he just looks like hes learnt how to play the guitar then bought a violin with frets, his bow hold is completely different than a traditional bow hold, he isnt using a chinrest and his vibrato is guitar vibrato not violin vibrato
Although it makes sense, you're completely wrong. Tracy is an amazing classical trained musician (studied classical violin at Juilliard School). He is a former member of the Turtle Island String Quartet, where he used to play regular acoustic violin. Also, this violin he's playing is fretted only in the lower 3 strings (I've played it myself) and up to the 3rd or 4th position. The upper 3 strings (it is a 6 strings instrument) does not have frets.
I got to see him live at my school too! It was awesome! I bought his Eclectica Streaming Video Soul cd and got his autograph. i recorded his led Zep medley on my cell phone but the quality is terrible. Great show
@CallMeTheWonderer its about 12,000 dollars he was at my school about 1 year ago and was talking with the kids and stuff but yeah about 12,000 dollars
@CallMeTheWonderer not more than a house actually, the typical electric violin ranges from 150 dollars to around 3,200 dollars. But the amount stacks up abit when you think about things like rosin, case, effect pedal(s), and amp(s).
@cocokitty55 first if anything about him he MADE that it is the worlds first 6 string electric violin. GET YOUR FACTS STRAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
