  • oh cool you didn't show the whole ending, now i can fave this and it won't ruin the film if someone watches this who hasn't seen the film

  • "walk"...

  • the answer to the existential angst is Zen Buddhism. The Art of Being.

  • A remarkable film. Whatever it is isn't completely formed in my mind, I don't think I'm clever or knowledgeable enough to critique it, but whenever I do watch it, it speaks to me, ironically, about myself and my own mortality.

  • If you find Art depressing at least you're experiencing it. It's impacting you. Art is a struggle to overcome. What greater struggle can there be than the overcoming of the knowledge that our lives are ultimately meaningless. When we assume our lives have meaning, it's only as a comfort, it's an illusion we create to save ourselves from participating in a struggle that no one has ever won, and none of us can hope to win either.

  • @skygrottian

Don't look for meaning from outside you. That's the same childish nonsense that's revealed in this scene. You live your life for yourself, set and achieve goals you enjoy. Then you won't find yourself driving a golf cart having an inner whine-fest about how nobody cares about you or that your life was meaningless. Life has as much meaning as a game of chess or checkers...whatever you put into it.

  • @EGarrett01 I don't need you to tell me. Refrain from your pseudo-philosophy that you got from one thousand other places, and not from the within of which you write.

  • @skygrottian

Actually, I didn't get that from anywhere, and I'm 100% serious. You can look at my channel and see some more analysis of philosophical debates that is all from me. Your accusation only shows that you are at the level of thinking where others have to come up with ideas for you, and you thus project that on others.

  • @EGarrett01 Yes, I am sure you think what you wrote was original and not an impression you got from elsewhere. Psychoanalyzing me was probably a pleasure for you too. Though it was lame and ridiculously cliche. Considering everyone derives their ideas from impressions based on sense-stimulation processed by the brain, your point that I do that is invalid, because it's human. For a self-professed philosopher you sure haven't shown your knowledge of philosophy, perception... etc etc etc

  • @skygrottian

My point wasn't that you do that. My point was that others come up with your ideas for you, meaning you're imitative in your thinking, taking prechewed concepts from others instead of synthesizing them yourself from the world around you. Which is why you assume someone else would do that too. Don't try to slip any more bullshit equivocation by me. It won't work.

  • @EGarrett01 Riiiiiight... because your Ego is that big you don't think the same rules that apply to Everyone Else apply to you, because you're that special. Congratulations on the complete self-unawareness and self-deception. You thought yourself out of yourself. Cheers. Now piss off.

  • @EGarrett01 ANNNNDDDD, you obviously misunderstood my comment completely.

  • @skygrottian

    No, I didn't.

  • @EGarrett01 Whatever, dude. I can tell by your reply that you missed the point completely, but hold on to the belief you comprehended my point of view, despite the very real fact that you don't know me, and therefore could not possibly be an authority on the things that I say.

  • @EGarrett01 I stand by my comment. You misunderstood, and based on recent comments, you continue to misunderstand. You probably have an insecurity that connects 'not understanding' with level of intelligence. However, not every intelligent person will understand everything. Be happy you 'get' what you 'get' and allow others to help you figure out the rest, dude.

  • @skygrottian

False. Your definition of art is complete bullshit also.

  • Roger Ebert, post surgery, said that this was a film, that in twenty some years, would be named as one of the first great movies of the 21st century.

But he wouldn't have said that pre surgery

  • Now you are here its 7:43. Now you are here its 7:44. Now you are...gone.

  • I felt like I was trapped in Caden's own life while I was watching this film, and I wanted to get out. The ending is near deppressing, yet, every word spoken has truth in it. One of the greatest movies of all time.

  • No movie devalues the entire experience of being alive like this one. If Charlie Kaufman thinks it's all so pointless, why doesn't he just get it over with.

  • @NWN1000

Yeah, 'cause that's the main idea of the film, right?

No matter all the subjects, all the topics Kaufman presents. NWN1000 says that S, NY devalues the entire experience of being alive.

    Solid point (...)

Una de las mejores, más personales y sensibles películas de los últimos tiempos.

    Una real obra de arte.

  • this is when I realized he was for sure dead :(
