  • @MikeysRc why don't you have a video of you building this one? Im about to build this plane today but I'm not sure where you put the electronics and set the wings in.

  • @flightexperiences Because the Mustang is for intermediate builders / pilots that I figured would know the basics of building. You can watch my Sport Trainer videos to learn the basics of building and mounting the parts. Or join my forum and get detailed answered on there.

  • about to build this pdf,i have some experiance but we will see how it comes out.I will post vids of it when im making it. Its cold n windy so perfect project weather, thankx for the idea.

  • Nice paint job.

  • Hi! I have a question-I printed the plans for the Mustang (thanks! The plans are great) and the print scale is 4,10 out of 5 inches. Is this serious? Will the plane fly and does it need a different motor or something?

  • @spinosaurus242 I'm not sure I understand your measurement. 4 inches and 10 what? You might need to adjsust your printer scaleing to "NONE" to get it to print right. Keep adjusting and reprinting ONLY the first page till you can get that line with in 1/8th of an inch of 5 inches and then everything will be finan dyou can use the motor reccomended on the plans.

  • who's mikey if your name's will

  • @1234adamdoyle Mikey is my mascot. Just watch some of my first videos I ever posted.

  • Ok.. I have had lots of flying on this design in the past week. and tonight, well it all ended.. All I can say, is make sure you make the wing a single piece! I made the mistake of using two halves and joining them with glue and screwers.... Well, I was throwing the plane around at full throttle doing some crazy 3D stuff... Well... The wing buckled on me and it went in.. Let me tell ya... LIPO Fires are REAL! lol.. Going to rebuild soon!

  • Well... 4 months later.. I finally got around to doing my maiden flight of the p-51 built from your plans. Flies very well.. I am very pleased with it.

  • @BennettOZ Yeah I just watched your video. Nice job. Hope your "air intake" wasn't messed up too much from belly landing.

  • @MikeysRC Nope- No damage what so ever.. I might line it with some sewers to make sure it doesn't get damnaged. or find some wheels. :)

  • what size prop

  • @MrJericho12 GWS direct trice electric 10X6 prop. or 9X5 works too.

  • this is really nice --- neat ---cool ---- I like it --- I'm going to your site and get more info --- I watched you cut out the plans in the 4 part video ---- "hey I can do that" gonna give it a try . great stuff !

  • @billfromelma Awesome! Glad I could inspire you to get into the hobby!

  • i make one from coro with 105mm span n 92 cm length n 720 gr

it needs a lot of speeds just to keep still in the air

and it moves wildly... i`ve already set the right cog

should i set anything? the aileron throw is a little big.....

  • stupid question but i shall ask away... ok i have a trainer i fly the crap out of it but am now board to death i want to do this and build planes like yea so i can just swap all the parts so if i buy all the stuff listed i can just use them over and over on other planes? thanks

  • @EthanAnderson1 ONly if it has a brushless motor and lipo battery. If it has a brushed motor and ni-cad battery it won't fly. Also even if you have the brushlesses motor and good battery you didn't say how big your plane is. So your stuff could be too underpowered.

  • @GHANDYTAMASH I just try to make my planes as simple to build as possible. They fly so well with out a "real" airfoil I don't see the need to make one. But I know many people have tried the other styles of airfoils and they work well too.

  • nice will get it when i can.

  • One more question for ya Mikey. What are you using to paint the coating of the dollar tree foam board? I tried Rustolum and it peeled the paper backing off.

  • @BennettOZ Weird...I just use any brand spray paint and craft store tempra paint.

  • Hey Mikey... On this P-51. Do you make each wing half separate? The Dollar tree foam board is only 20x30.. I am guessing you could join the two halves with hot glue and pop sickle sticks to reinforce???

  • @BennettOZ It doesn't metter weather the wing is cut form one piece or you flue two halves together. Yes, supporting the joint with popsicle sticks or BBQ skewers is a good idea.

  • @GHANDYTAMASH contact my affiliate store scratchrc dot com and ask him is he will ship to you.

  • Hey Mikey,

Since you have the P-51 I think you should make planes for a Bf-109! That would be cool!

  • consider it on the list my friend.

  • i cant decide ether to use a 4 blade 3 or 2 plz help

  • Depends on the pitch....but I'd use a 2 or 3 blade

  • ok i think the best pilots in the world are ... YOU !

  • Great camera work. Very nice looking planes.

  • que chilero esta vos mikey, I know that you wont understand that but it says, "Its awesome mikey" or something like that, good job man, as soon as you publish it in your page I will try to do it. thanks

  • woohooo! nice airplane! it looks like it flys verry well nice work

  • that thing flys almost as good as the real thing if not better nice job mikey

  • Nice plane, is it made with foamboard?

  • Yes it is.

  • sweet! and it's made from my favorite material!

  • Looks like a pretty cool plane Mikey! Flies awesome. Simple and low priced is always a plus too. Keep up the good work!

    Paul

  • probable one of the best scratch built foamies ive ever seen
