@Heterormorphic a little late i know, but in the broadway production, she sings in to the audience in an undefined space for the first half, and in the second half after Jeff, Hunter, and Susan reunite, then turn her attention to her and it is assumed they are in the same location, most likely the appartment. This show isn't really big on defining spaces, but it's still one of my favorites :D

What a wonderful song. What an amazing show. I think the best part of seeing this show on on Broadway was watching the faces of the two creators on stage react to living their dream--seeing their art come to life and hearing the wild applause and appreciation from the audience.
