She never lost her voice or her amazing stage presence and this 1990 performance proved for all time that her artistry was not a trick.

Amazingly, she kept the voice and the range to the very end. And her stage presence, poise and power. She was very talented and very wise but I think life was never easy for her; her mentor and husband expected a lot and never provided much nurturing and comfort from what people who knew them said.
