John Kahn was more than just a good bass player him and jerry were like two pea"s in a pod when it came to the persian. John was a strange looking cat we sat pretty close many a night and he made some weird faces. It was a drag when john got his solo"s in twist of fate, russian lullaby. But what i would do for a couple jerry show"s in some college gym"s. They was some great times.
I feel more complete having heard this just now. listening to the dead for 13 years and somehow this one escaped me. It was worth the wait. Oh the many jewels of Jerry.
Kaiser Auditorium in Oakland was a great place to see the dead.saw them there many times not too big like the oakland colliseum.always had great shows there miss them peace&love
Thank you very much for sharing/posting this ! Everyone is in such fine form here-very crisp & snappy. Miss J, but miss Spud, the girls, Melvin & Kemper as well. The joy and electricity in the air during this show comes shining through here. Thanks again !
just saw kemper and the girls jamm a show with my buddies band 'Remnants of Eden' on saturday in marina del rey (los angeles).....they are still rocking!! I AGREE SO MUCH>>>>>THIS SHOW IS ROCKED! loved Kaiser...what an electric spot...i think J & Co. loved it too and it shows!

i don't think this is the garden but be that as it was ''i 'd rather be a free man in my grave than livin' as a puppet or a slave' 1986 was not a great year for us we almost lost papa in the summer in some unbearable heat but like the trooper he was we met him in oakland for three nites later that same year

The Comeback Kid! Love it!
When will someone post Jerry and Jimmy Cliff singing this together at the Greek, in 1990? Pretty please?

is that a modulus bass that john kahn is playing? we miss you jer
TCMooresrq 2 years ago
Nope, a Steinberger. It's a different feel and a different sound from Modulus. They were popular in the 80s.
