  • It's probably the the 'touch part' of the screen touching the actual screen (LCD)

  • did you return it

  • Where are these Samsung Care Centers?

  • Is it an air on screen protector?

If not, it's probably something that I also had on my SGT7500

That called "newton ring" or "water mark"

it happen because the change of temperature and pressure (or so I read)

you can go to Samsung Care Center bringing the box and the buying slip

they'll replace yours with the new one.

    Hope it help :)

  • Staples replaced it for me.

  • I just started seeing this myself 2 days ago. A shame cause I love this tablet. One person said it got worse turing the screen pink. Anyone else seeing this get worse or going away?

  • im having the same problem too, does guarantee cover this issue?

  • got the same problem too..damn

  • mine didn't actually depend on temperature and was much bigger.

  • Same problem here.

  • Got it. Staples is trying to say I dropped it. What causes this?

  • @MegaHowtoMan

It seems to be a problem with the internal components coming in contact with one another... it can be duplicated on normal GTabs by squeezing it slightly. It isn't caused by dropping.

Don't know about Staples, but Best Buy had no problem replacing it even without buying their extra warranty. I absolutely love the tablet so it's sad to see some having this problem on an otherwise beautiful display.

  • Got the same problem, but all the time. Am returning it to Fry's soon as I get back to Seattle.

  • on my galaxy 10.1 starts with this problem... later all screen has turned to pink :-(

  • @rafaelrosa87 mine been running 2 days with no newton's ring sign showing up.

you might want to call samsung for new replacement. good luck

  • got the same problem. not too visible on mine but annoying. got the new exchange from staples yesterday and so far no newton's rings. hope that one is good for good. btw: bought that with $100 off coupon from staples.

  • Fucking Samsung. "The best Honeycomb tablet on the market." oh yeah and it has a major defect.

I just cancelled the tablet that is being shipped to my house. Getting the ASUS Eee Pad Transform instead.

  • I am seeing this on two different units. Posted a link to this video on the Samsung Service channel ( samsungservice ). We will see if we get an answer, since the Samsung Live Chat agent was unable to help (or to see the video to even see what I was talking about).

  • Same problem here. The mark grew longer after two weeks. I suspect some internal parts is touching the screen thereby transferring heat to screen. The mark is especially noticeable when tab is held upside down (screen facing floor) when it got warm.

I'm returning it for an exchange. Hopefully it won't appear on the next one.

  • Same problem with mine :S

  • Mine has this too. I haven't been able to figure out if it's only when warmed up, but thanks for posting this!
