I talk with friends in Israel, Palestine, Romania, London etc. it gives an understanding that no matter the distance we are all connected. It is an unfeeling, and ultimately uncaring tool, and a tool can be used both in a positive sense and a negative. I talk with friends in Israel, Palestine, Romania, London etc. it gives an understanding that no matter the distance we are all connected. We are thoughts carrying themselves across the world to reach other thoughts. I would never have enriched my life so much with out this collective of thoughts being at my fingertips. If you see all of the good, the bad goes away.

If you look past those ("those" as in, the ones who people usually don't care about), then the internet has a far deeper good. It helps abolish censorship, share knowledge and ideas, and has truly revolutionized our way of life.
The only serious problem of the internet would be the accuracy of the information, something which the individual needs to tell the difference.

It is an unfeeling, and ultimately uncaring tool, and a tool can be used both in a positive sense and a negative. Like a shovel, it can be used in various forms of yard work, but would also be a very harmful tool if used as a weapon. People already use the internet for 'good', though you can also find plenty of 'bad' to balance it out.

Of course there is many bad things in the internet, but the internet, or better to say "the spirit of the web", is something which deserves the peace nobel price. For example take a Chat. You can chat with many people, discuss topics and more. And you don't have prejudice from the skin colour or something else. You focus on the human. And the Internet let us communicate with humans all over the world. It can be something realy great

This is the most foolish idea I´ve ever heard of. The Dalai Lama said once on a interview in the USA: "Technology by itself is neutral, it depends on the USER if it´s going to work for good or bad". If we give Internet the nobel prize we are declaring ourselves useless and meaningless. Do not let the Internet be the one getting all the credit. Nobel Prize should be a prize to honor those MEN or WOMEN who achieved something unbelievebable, something incredible for humans, in order to achieve peace.
We have to react soon, in order to save what is left of our principles and ideals, because the actual society is decaying and lacking of them...

@Achimenchtung I just think there should more sensible members on the Nobel committee, and if one year there really is not a person worth giving the price then thy should not give it. I think an analogue of the internet receiving a Nobel nomination would be comparable to nominating the railroads. They have brought people together, and made travel possible. However they made some industries obsolete (internet music bus.) and made possible large wars, and habitat destruction.

Ok ... I think that the internet can have good relationship like e-mails , messenger ... That everyone can have a nice conversation , until the friends that are far ...
But in the other case , it's dangerous for kids that can have a people and the kid doesn't know whom is he talking ...
Isn't only that the bad: pornos -> one of the bigger sites are the pornos ... Kids like 12 , 13 are watching porno's in internet and in these times it's normal.
I don't think internet is a way for a good society.
