  • Waterpik is celebrating our 50th Anniversay in 2012! Visit our web site for more details on our history. waterpik.com

  • @WaterPikInc can you use this wireless

  • did they have this i the 90s

  • i don't have the "Waterpik" brand... but i have a waterpik... and it rules. It really makes the whole dental routine a little more fun.

*side note* It also makes a amazing squirt gun... mine can shoot about 30 yards...

and now my dog runs into the kitchen when she hears the waterpik being turned on(i had to try it something, right?)

  • Waterpik recommends regular visits to your dental professional. It takes special dental tools to remove plaque build-up.

  • If someone has thick plaque on their teeth that has been on there and is really thick will this remove it?

  • I am the lord of cakes and i say DON'T FLOSS AND EAT MORE CAKE!

  • gpgfrr[[rr[t[g[t[tptr[rt[r[r[thyhttyp5tpo5t0ortrt0

  • J'aimerais me procurer un embout pour mon water pik,il est brisé,poriez-vous me dire comment je peux m'en procurer, merci

  • OMG its brain washing comercial!!!

  • Pump unit breaks after some weeks and battery is poor.

    Erik, Copenhagen

  • Yes you can! Our Water Flossers will help you keep your teeth clean and gums healthy during ortho treatment. We even have a specific tip for use with braces, the Orthodontic Tip.

  • @WaterPikInc

No, it will break down after max. 2 months

  • I just recently got braces, but my teeth are too compact and there is very little room for me to string floss under my braces. I am interested in the Waterpik. Can I use the Waterpik on braces?

  • does the waterpik help with hyper-plastic gums???O.o

  • The denist told me using a waterpik doesn't replace flossing.

  • how much peroxide or listerine should we mix in with the water?

  • Waterpik recommends no more than a 1 to 1 mixture of solution to water. Always rinse the unit by running a reservoir of water only through the unit.

  • I seriously wonder why they haven't changed the name for the dutch merchandise. in dutch this means waterdick, so I couldn't really take this seriously the first time I saw a google ad

  • @JanusChan hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

  • Is it safe for the machine and/or does it offer any benefits to mix Listerine or Scope with the water while using it?

  • For goodness sake all you need are the little round rubber water pump things that the dental nurses uses on you, how much are they??? Do you need mechanics for this?

  • I've bought a waterpik after 1 months got braces. The first time I used it with low pressure, my gum was hurt and bloody. Im' so scared and if I can continue use it or not?

  • hey tictoe...Bleeding and irritation is normal for begining use, especially with braces. The same thing happened to me. Your gums are not used to the water pressure and it will take a little time for them to get used to the waterpik. My suggestion is to use it every other day on the lowest setting and then gradually increase the power. That's what I did and now my gums no longer bleed..

  • I really do no think this is real! I use ultrasonic equipment from NSK to remove plaque and some times its complicatedt. How does a mild pressure can remove plaque. Plus the waterpik ultrasonic brush bubbles where not coming from the brush!

  • can you use this on teeth that have veneers?

  • The dental water jet is safe to use on crowns, bridges, and veneers. It will help keep the area clean and stimulate gum tissue to ensure a healthy smile.

  • @WaterPikInc

What do you man by "stimulate gum tissue to ensure a healthy smile"?

  • Does the waterpik help with periodental problems?

  • Between the pik-pocket tip and "Periogen",(Google it), yes.

  • It really does work & fights bad breath. I'm getting braces soon so, I'm glad I found this at my local Kroger. I had something caught in my wisdom tooth that I had been unable to get out with any other method. It was litteraly making me sick (poo breath). The 1st use got rid of what ever that was that crawled in my tooth and died. No more poo breath! 2 days of that and I was looking for something to fix it and if this hadden't worked I would have crashed my local dentist office tomorrow morning.

  • My Waterpik has been a lifesaver for cleaning my brace-laden teeth. There just isn't any other way to do it. Being a truck driver, I have the cordless unit so I can blast my teeth any time I need to. Greatest thing since sliced bread!

  • I have a Waterpik and I love it. It works so well! I really suggest you get one.

  • Will the Water Pik lighten dark gums?

  • Only your dental professional can answer that for you based on your particularly oral health situation. Your tissue may be naturally darker - but healthy, or they could appear dark due to inflammation. Your dentist and hygienist can best assess your situation and give you the right recommendation."

  • @WaterPikInc

water doesnt kill plaque neither does mouth wash...

plaque is a sticky bio-film and can only be eliminated through certain means... such as a certain product that will loosen the biofilm.

i dont think that pulsating water can remove plaque since its stuck to teeth like glue

  • @mercanaries3 do you know how fast the water pulsates? its a mini pressure washer for teeth. ever use a pressure washer on paint it chips right off. Oh no your probably one of those flossing is the only option.

  • I got my waterpik 2 weeks ago and i absolutely love it! <3 I love how clean my teeth and gums feel after every use. I've been telling everyone i know to invest in it. So far I've gotten most of my friends and close family to get one.

  • The WP-450 Ultra dental water jet is for everyone.

  • The Waterpick ultra cordless WP-450W is only for people whom use braces and dental appliances or for everyone? I don't like things with wires so the ultra cordless seems more convenient.

  • Clinical studies show the dental water jet is 93% more effective than traditional brushing and flossing at improving gum health.

  • I once had periodontal (gum) disease. To the point that my dentist said if something is not done he will send me to a gum surgeon to fix the damage. I then did some deep thinking and went shopping for some dental appliance that would fix it for me. I came across the Water Pik. I've been through two now. I never have cavities now. Using at least once a week my gums feel great and I don't have that awful breath anymore. I've gotten several family members to use one now too. Just get them to try it

  • what if u have that gum disease periodontal .... will that reduce it fast er than regular flossing...etc

  • As a dental hygienist for more yrs than I care to count, I highly recommend the Water Pik. Very few of us floss correctly. I recommended what I called the FBI technique for best results-Floss, Brush and Irrigate(Water Pik). Lastly, use the Water Pik which, I believe, along with removing plaque you don't reach, increases the blood flow to the gums making them healthier. The Water Pik is one device none of us should be without! Just my opinion....hope it helps someone -;)

  • i have puffy gums can this help me get my gums smaller and teeth more visible?

  • For best results, use at least once a day.

  • Do I use the waterpik everyday or once a week?

  • I'm buying one of these today. Really hope it works.

  • Yes! It is far superior to dental floss and much easier to use. Using the Orthodontic tip is 3.8 times more effective than flossing.

  • Does it work with braces?

  • Watch the video !!!!!!

  • I got mu waterpik recently. Its great, it sort of removes alot of the bad breathe (not that I have anything serious). It sort of leaves you mouth feeling fresher. The bad thing is it uses water jets, hence the big water mess. I can never look at the mirror and do it at the same time because the water splashes all over the mirror. I only use it in the bath now so I can just washing myself together with my bath. Overall, it is a great investment.

  • This is used to clean the outside of the teeth and remove plaque near your gums that the tooth brush doesnt get. Flossing is for getting in between your teeth. And brushing cleans the surface of your teeth to prevent cavities.

  • Interesting

  • Until you are comfortable performing the procedure, use the lowest pressure setting when cleaning the tongue side of the teeth. The areas can be accessed by opening the mouth wider and tilting the jet tip up and/or at an angle. It is important to direct the jet tip at a 90% angle to the gum line.

  • So are these safe for removing tonsil stones?

  • The dental water jet is for use along the gum line and teeth. It is not recommended for use on other soft tissue areas.

  • The instruction manual recommends starting in the molar area (back teeth) and working toward the front teeth. Glide the tip along the gumline and pause briefly between teeth. Continue until all areas have been cleaned.

  • But can it reach places like back-face of the incisor teeths? Because I could not find a "J" or "U" type or similar shape tip to reach it.

  • The video only showing the waterpik cleaning the front face of the teeth, but can it be used to clean the back face as well?

  • i just got one of these and wow the 1st time using some nasty s*** came out , i recommend it , my gums still bleed a little bit tho.

  • The waterpik ultra! Much more powered than an older big model. Nice rotating pointer.

Now for the question, are you allowed to shoot water directly between the gum and the tooth possibly causing seperation and jamming food particles further down the crackline? I avoid this. I shut off the power instead of using the shut off valve. The waterpik is nice because right after a hardcore babyback ribs dinner it simply blasts a ton of food right out of your mouth. Water & light mouthwash mix is tits.

  • It takes a bit of practice to use the unit without making a mess in the bathroom. Remember to lean over the sink and keep your lips slightly open to let the water run out of your mouth.

  • I have watched the video and advertisement & thought that it is good. So I buy one & try. The water that bounced back from your teeth can mess up the whole place, the mirror gets wet, your shirt will definitely get wet. Mine is a rechargable so no pressure control. It goes between the teeth & hurt the tongue. I foss after using it & there are still particles. Fossing is best if u have tried this.

  • Mine is a rechargable, so unable to control the pressure. waterpik should come out with an attachment that can control the pressure. The pressure is stronger than my teeth can take. Tomorrow I going to see a dentist.

  • I've been flossing, using an Oral-B electric toothbrush, and a Oral-B flouride mouthwash that my dentist recommend. So far I haven't had any problems with this combination. Is it still worth getting a Waterpik or is this really something that's for people who just don't floss?

  • im gonna get it the waterpick, i dont know whether to choose the big unit WP100 or the cordlesss one.... I got braces, and my ortho said i got gingivitis and recommended me using a sonic toothbrush but i've been using it before the gum inflammation occurred.

  • hi im a dental hygienist. Is more for people who dont floss, but are u flossing the proper way? Make sure you go deep till u see ur gum change a little bit to white because of the pressure and make the C movement for each side. If u feel u that ur flossing technic isnt that good and ur gums bleeds a bit, the u should get a waterpik.

  • are there replacement heads available? how do you sanitize the tips?

  • Tips are available from a variety of on-line retailers. Replace them every 3-4 months.

  • Water Pik, Inc dental water jets are recommended for use on the teeth and gums. All units are capable of producing pressures high enough to damage soft tissue in the ears, throat and nasal cavities.

  • i just used mine tonight .

i must say its very messy but its great !

  • does it clean the tonsils well?

  • i just bought a waterpik from walgreens for $60.00 last night. i can't wait to get home so i can use it today. thanks for the video.

  • I love my waterpik.

  • I just got mine from amazon and I can tell you that not only works, but it is AWESOME

  • Yes, a recent study with biofilm expert Bill Costerton showed the Waterpik® dental water jet can effectively remove plaque. The study showed that either the standard jet tip or orthodontic tip removed significant plaque both above and below the gumline. The study will be published a dental science journal called Compendium in March.

  • Will it remove Plaque?

  • oooh... I'm off to get one, myself!

    Thanks for the vid.
