Ok one this is not animal abuse so yu guys who saying that it is obviously don't know what the difference between actual animal abuse and taking care of yu pet. Every animal needs a bath here and there just like we do, so if yu think bathing a rabbit is abuse then I guess bathing any other animal such as a dog or a cat is too? That is stupid look up animal abuse yu can't go to jail for bathing and caring for yu animal now if yu hitting it that different.
Guys stop complaining!!! It is perfectly normal for a caring pet owner to give a pet rabbit a bath. I used to give my wabbit a bath once a month.
Did he hate it? YES! Unlike Oreo, my manfred would kick up a storm...
Was it harmful to him ? NO!!!!!
ONLY thing you need to be careful about: dont get water inside his ears and dry him up really well after. Not just towel dry, hair dryer dry (on a gentle setting so you dont scald him).
@TheAmericanDesi Did you even see how Oreo tried to run away. They obviously got water in it's nose/ears! Bathing a rabbit is fine, but this is plain abuse! Baby bunnies don't need to be bathe at that young of an age.
its not necessary to bathe a rabbit especailly at that age. that bunny look like he's only 2 or 3 months old. you're supposed to bathe a bunny at 5 months or older. but you don't have to. bunnies are one of the most cleanest animals out there. they clean themsleves. plus you're holding him by the neck don't you think that hurts him.
I must agree that bathing a rabbit is stupid but when I was younger ( and had another bunny) I had a water toy with little boats and stuff and when i was playing my bunny always got in the water and played with the boats and he was to his neck in the water so some might like it. I never really had the idea to wash my rabbit when she gets a clean house i always rub straw all over her then she smells nice and she seems to like it. =D just my advice
Oreo dont like baths lol. maybe a damp cloth rub might be better? my bunny loves those. its a lot like getting lost of pets just wetter lmao. you didn't use soap did you? it's harmful to their skin since they have very delicate and sensitive skin.
I would wash my bunnies only when its absolutely necessary and they cant clean themselves on their own. But cold water on a small bunny is certainly not good! I am worried for him :(
wow u all suck. 1. u wash bunnies only a few breeds cant get wet n th seller will letcha know. 2. does any child animal want to bath? no, not even human babies. 3. u could give it a big hug n a kiss n it would be animal abuse to u people wouldnt it? ugh she wasnt injecting water up its butt so chill out. it was a fussy bunbun. thats all.
Rabbits do not need to be bathed. For many rabbits, bathing is a stressful experience and it has the potential for bringing ILLNESS. If your rabbit has only a small area of their body that needs to be cleaned, bathe that area only. Non-medicated shampoos designed for dogs and cats are fine for rabbits.Make sure your rabbit doesnt become chilled!! If using a hair dryer high settings should never be used because of the risk of heat stress.
Not necessary to have that much water, just sponge of the dirty area. I have two very messy rabbits who like to dig, soil themselves and soil each other! Cleaning them in the way I do keeps them clean after any mishaps.
Plus nearly all soaps irritate their sensitive skin, should only use gentle puppy shampoo.
Please don't hold it around the neck next time :(
Ok assholes, rabbits must be bathed or their hair becomes matted and you would have to shave them and then they die either of shock or cold. We are all not lucky to have pets that like water. She did everything right. You are supposed to hold on firmly to them and talk so they will calm down when they hear your voice. Plus, bunnies may be cute but they are a little dumber than most domesticated pets. They panic to quickly and therefore sometimes potty on themselves. It was it's first bath.

They have a foam shampoo bath you can buy so you don't need to use water at all. Its a leave in so you pump it on your hand an work it into the fur.
Saves you getting wet and your bathroom from getting drenched (",)
