Hoping all goes well for her. I've also lived w/ CF for all of my life. I received my 1st double lung transplant in 05 but they rejected several times. In 07, I went in for a bronc and had complications. I had to be put into a medically induced coma for 17 days. I was told I was being put back on the transplant list. A week later I coded blue, but brought back. That put me on top of the list & soon after received my lungs. I've been doing great since and celebrating my 33rd Bday this month.

Just wanted to give everyone an update: Kay is doing well and she has been living in North Carolina for about three months now, where she is very close to Duke. She is ready to receive the call for a double lung transplant any day now! We all have our fingers crossed and our hope high that she we be called soon! Thank you all for your kind words and inspiring prayers, I will be sure to keep all of you posted!
i hope Kayla is ok , its sad when people go threw this kinda stuff it makes me sad cause its not there faults that they have these problems God Bless her , my prayers are with her .
I was just wondering if she has looked into being listed at University Of Pittsburgh. . . they are a great center. They did more lung transplants last year than any other center in the country! I know they take on high risk and re-transplant patients. I was a VERY HIGH RISK (CF/Cepacia) and they transplanted me in 2007. . .might be worth looking into. I really pray she gets lungs soon.
@buggerjlewis She recently was denied by Pittsburgh because it was out of her jurisdiction. Last Friday she made her way down to Duke University where she will probably stay for a few months in hopes of receiving another set of lungs. They told her that she has GREAT chances so we are all praying everything works out. She now listed at Cleavland & Duke! I appreciate the support, every word of inspiration goes a long way! And congratulations on your lungs!
