The two systems must have been vastly different apart from CPU. Benchmarks unanimously favor Intel over AMD, across the internet. I have an AMD x6 and it performs slower than Intel x4's, and only slightly better than AMD x4. People need to stop looking for excuses to bash intel, and need to learn something more about computers other than x cores = x speed, because that is not true.

A PC's gaming performance depends on the graphics card for the most part, and I'm very sorry about people who don't know this, and still believe that AMD is smarter choice. If they had been tested with a dedicated graphics card, surely Intel would have been the winner.

Fuck amd, i had a phenom x4 954 BLACK EDITION, then the x6 came out. My dad said a x6 to buy, i said an i5 quad core. So he took a i5, it whas definatly faster. All of you retards calling fake need to watch the video again, they aren't just playing a game, they are converting the video while playing, naturally having an extra core will definitely make things a shit ton faster when multitasking, core 2 duos were great processors in their day but the original phenom architecture definitely WAS faster clock for clock, when phenom II was released it only got better, but intel came out with i7 which as we know is quite quick.
in all fairness amd is better. for at first look u can say well my cpu is fatser but amd people could buy liquid cooling and shit with spare money making there gaming rig much better

Intel , based platforms may have more latency but ,they have more speed than a amd , not a lot interms of ghz but far more in terms of cache, and most intel(except core 2 duo) have hyper threading too which equals to better multi tasking and more speed in processor heavy tasks like video edditing...., and if people really wan to compare , compare a gulfton with a phenom x6 whith same specs , and no cheating with ati graphic cards.

AMD Phenoms are good but Intel C2D are not bad. They are also strong; (you don´t need a good computer to run HL2 well!) but (maybe) not as strong as a AMD Phenom (2)

My Mate has an AMD Phenom X3 and his OC'ed from 2.1 to 2.3 easily and woudnt budge past that.. BSOD for no reason and Ive overlcocked computers before with good results

And yes it'll come out ahead. but it doesn't do as well in gaming =/ I7 vs phen 2 x6, x6 is better on gaming..

@RiddleMeThis19 Hmm that's strange I never experience much problems with the overclocking of intel processors. You might want to give the processor some extra juice that would help lol if it crashes! Got my old E8400 on 3.6Ghz no problems (Max FSB) and I took my new core i5-750 in 2 steps straight to 4.0 Ghz completely stable. Believe me everything flies on a 4ghz i5:) and what i can see from the benchmarks is that most amd processors aren't really that fast! Where they are good at is price/perf

@POPCORN454545 That's not really true, C2Q and i5's architecture's are completely different. C2Q's are actually 2 C2D blend together. Also they are on a different socket with different chipsets, Also the C2Q's have to acces memory etc. with the northbridge chip. The i5's/i7's have direct acces to the memory on a p55 chipset board. And there is much more, you can't compare the C2Q's with the i5 on the same clockspeed.

@Mooseguy15 amd sort of does not need 32nm as the die on the phenom chips is easily big enough to support 6 cores, but they are falling behind because in the future 2-5 years 45 nm wont cut it.

depends on the core 2 , i definitely tell the difference on my little brothers 9650 vs my x4 945 both stock at first i still could tell mine ws faster at encoding amd had high fps , now that both are oced mine to 4ghz his wont go past 3.5 intel board :( mine is faster ,his is cooler though
@JCDizon16 No. I have used almost all AMD's in my desktop systems I have built. However, you truly realize the differences in laptops. AMD is not suited for laptops at all, if you want to get your money's worth. I currently have a 1090T 6 core AMD, and it makes me sick that an i7 is so much faster. It´s fake for sure... In conversion tasks, I belive that an Amd with 3 core is better than an intel with 2 cores... But... In games, most of them can´t use more than 2 cores, and all of than, runs great on a e7200.
Obs.: I have a phenom II x4, I love it, it´s a great processor, but AMD8450 be better in games than a e7200... It´s very hard
@zappload you do realize amd use to beat the shit out of there Pentiums chips for years right ?back in the p3 days the amd athlon would kill it in clock speed/ the Pentium 4 days were worse for Intel , the amd x2s and even the single cores killed the net burst arch repeatedly intels fastest chip the 965 extreme , couldn't even beat an x2 4200 even at 4ghz it was barely able to , the only reason intel got a leg up is ams neck ties were lazy

The Black will obviously be like an Extreme and have unlocked multipliers, if you're gonna OC I'd say the Phenom, if not then I'd slightly go for Intel, but that's because I'm experienced in Intel systems, and don't know that much about AMD (trying to be unbiased). ;)

@hyrael2 Really depends of the aplicattion... in games that can benefit from triple or quad cores, its gona rape any Dual Core... but in games or aplicattion that only uses 2 cores or less, the Intel C2D will win, cause the 8400, 8500 and 8600 are the BEST Dual core you can get (actually now you have dual core i5, so dunno if thats real now)
PS: i Own a Core 2 Duo and im moving to a Phenom II x4 945, cause i play mainly FSX (quad core enhanced)

Talking of i5. Your's is an dual core hyperthreaded with integrated graphics and as cheap as my E8400. The new I3/5/7 series really kick ass all AMD products and they have good price if you take the lowest on the series.

phenom x3 is not made to compete with core 2 quad OR i7. Phenom II X3 was meant to dislodge the core 2 duo, which it does. and it does this all the while being cheaper too!
Hmmm, The lag on the game is due to weak video card or increased rez., all in all it sounds fishy to me. We have 3 systems and my 3-year old C2D E7450 still converts RAW files much quicker than our new Phenom II X2 545, also games better and runs about 20-degrees cooler, not to mention the fan noise AMD produces with its OEM cooler. AMD is great for saving a few bucks and still compute well, but face it, Intel has it under the hood, where it counts. I still like AMD, so dont get me wrong.
looks like you are trying to run it on crappy graphics card. i got an intel chipset and it plays games perfectly fine. better than my AMD desktop. my AMD desktop lags with HALO. my laptop plays it great. i watched gta 4 play on the intel chipset in a video and it played fine. what your trying to do is play gta 4 on an old platform and you expect it to play perfectly.
i play games on my laptop and it all runs fine. it takes AMD 3 cores to match intel 2 cores. if you take an intel processor and pair it with an nVidia or aTi graphics card, you got an awesome Gaming Rig!
lol had the same issue with the game and I have an AMD Opteron 170 X2 overclocked with a 4850 x2. A friend of mine has the game on his core 2 quad extreme and it still runs like shit. I think its the game not ur computer.

Que video mentiroso. Não vou defender nenhuma marca de processador, mas a parte do game tá na cara que foi montagem, até pq o desempenho em jogos é um trabalho de uns 85% da placa de video (GPU), e esse jogo mostrado não é tão graficamente poderoso para dar aquele LAG num QuadCore da Intel e em nenhum outro seja da AMD ou INTEL. Acho que o dono do video fez uma compra de um Phenom da AMD e se arrependeu.

Cpu means everything in gaming if you didn't have a good enough cpu then the gpu wouldn't matter because the processor wouldn't be good enough to get the gpu to work at its max potential. I made a jump from a pentium dual core to a core 2 duo and i get at least 30-40 more fps in my games.

@RiddleMeThis19 Hmm that's strange I never experience much problems with the overclocking of intel processors. You might want to give the processor some extra juice that would help lol if it crashes! Got my old E8400 on 3.6Ghz no problems (Max FSB) and I took my new core i5-750 in 2 steps straight to 4.0 Ghz completely stable. Believe me everything flies on a 4ghz i5:) and what i can see from the benchmarks is that most amd processors aren't really that fast! Where they are good at is price/perf

@POPCORN454545 That's not really true, C2Q and i5's architecture's are completely different. C2Q's are actually 2 C2D blend together. Also they are on a different socket with different chipsets, Also the C2Q's have to acces memory etc. with the northbridge chip. The i5's/i7's have direct acces to the memory on a p55 chipset board. And there is much more, you can't compare the C2Q's with the i5 on the same clockspeed.

AMD is not suited for laptops at all, if you want to get your money's worth. I currently have a 1090T 6 core AMD, and it makes me sick that an i7 is so much faster. It´s fake for sure... In conversion tasks, I belive that an Amd with 3 core is better than an intel with 2 cores... But... In games, most of them can´t use more than 2 cores, and all of than, runs great on a e7200.
Obs.: I have a phenom II x4, I love it, it´s a great processor, but AMD8450 be better in games than a e7200... It´s very hard

@zappload you do realize amd use to beat the shit out of there Pentiums chips for years right ?back in the p3 days the amd athlon would kill it in clock speed/ the Pentium 4 days were worse for Intel , the amd x2s and even the single cores killed the net burst arch repeatedly intels fastest chip the 965 extreme , couldn't even beat an x2 4200 even at 4ghz it was barely able to , the only reason intel got a leg up is ams neck ties were lazy

The Black will obviously be like an Extreme and have unlocked multipliers, if you're gonna OC I'd say the Phenom, if not then I'd slightly go for Intel, but that's because I'm experienced in Intel systems, and don't know that much about AMD (trying to be unbiased). ;)

@hyrael2 Really depends of the aplicattion... in games that can benefit from triple or quad cores, its gona rape any Dual Core... but in games or aplicattion that only uses 2 cores or less, the Intel C2D will win, cause the 8400, 8500 and 8600 are the BEST Dual core you can get (actually now you have dual core i5, so dunno if thats real now)
PS: i Own a Core 2 Duo and im moving to a Phenom II x4 945, cause i play mainly FSX (quad core enhanced)

Hmmm, The lag on the game is due to weak video card or increased rez., all in all it sounds fishy to me. We have 3 systems and my 3-year old C2D E7450 still converts RAW files much quicker than our new Phenom II X2 545, also games better and runs about 20-degrees cooler, not to mention the fan noise AMD produces with its OEM cooler. AMD is great for saving a few bucks and still compute well, but face it, Intel has it under the hood, where it counts. I still like AMD, so dont get me wrong.

looks like you are trying to run it on crappy graphics card. i got an intel chipset and it plays games perfectly fine. better than my AMD desktop. my AMD desktop lags with HALO. my laptop plays it great. i watched gta 4 play on the intel chipset in a video and it played fine. what your trying to do is play gta 4 on an old platform and you expect it to play perfectly.

Que video mentiroso. Não vou defender nenhuma marca de processador, mas a parte do game tá na cara que foi montagem, até pq o desempenho em jogos é um trabalho de uns 85% da placa de video (GPU), e esse jogo mostrado não é tão graficamente poderoso para dar aquele LAG num QuadCore da Intel e em nenhum outro seja da AMD ou INTEL. Acho que o dono do video fez uma compra de um Phenom da AMD e se arrependeu.

Cpu means everything in gaming if you didn't have a good enough cpu then the gpu wouldn't matter because the processor wouldn't be good enough to get the gpu to work at its max potential. I made a jump from a pentium dual core to a core 2 duo and i get at least 30-40 more fps in my games.
