  • knee-et-ski

  • WHAT DID YOU CALL ME!? THAT IS OUR WORD!!

  • nice to meet you to :D

  • NEE-chuh

  • Nietscha

  • Nice to Neitzsche.

  • Neet-shee. I've always heard it pronounced neet-shee.

  • @lwm3398 well you've heard wrong. The E definitely makes the schwa sound since it's german and such.

  • why so many dislikes? =(

  • he is pronouncing Niet-sche missing the z

    it should be niets-sche

  • stop trolling PronunciationManual, pronunciationbook! You´re making urself ridiculous

  • @1t2t3t4t5t6t7 PronunciationBook exists BEFORE PronunciationManual =S

  • @KizukiYamada duhh you didnt get it did you

  • @1t2t3t4t5t6t7 trolling atempt? kinda nice try, but no.

  • gneecheh

  • lool. my lastname is Goetzsche, and you certainly doesn't pronounce it like that!

  • @imnotslutty I hope you pronounced it gurt-sher and not gate-sher. That House speaker john Boehner pisses me off. It is 'burner', not 'bayner'....

  • @dzordevjt If you can speak german, you might understand the pronouncement better. Its hard to explain, but yeah, its more gurt than gate, haha. You can't really pronounce danish and german names right in english, without it sounding wrong.. Especially danish, because of the three different letters we have.

  • @imnotslutty yeah i speak german as my second language. It annoys me when people don't pronounce it properly. I can't begin to pronounce danish though, you miss out so many letters! You guy are like the french of the germanic languages! xD but jeg kan sige rødgrød med fløde, kan du? ^^

  • @imnotslutty how do u pronounce it?

  • @mognite well, in danish we have å, ø and å. So "Gøtzjche"-ish.

  • Err actually: it's "Niiiaatsznstznche"

    You're welcome.

  • PronunciationManual's videos are funnier than pronunciationbook's, but the comments on pronunciationbook's videos are funnier than on PronunciationManual's...WHICH CHANNEL DO I WATCH?

  • @apoptosaurus pretty hilarious, eh?

  • what the fuck happened, did you come or sneeze?

  • That´s how I pronounce it, too. But there some people who speak the "z" (the German which is quite like the English "ts") seperately. Strange, isn´t it?

  • erm... gesundheit?

  • Why must you call nature this?

  • NIČA ...you are welcome.

  • Nicze :)

  • I like how PManual has a higher quality mic than this guy.

  • wrong pronunciation, good lordy

  • Finally I know how it's pronounced!

  • Gesundheit!

  • Ok, most of his videos are simple to understand but this is a tough one. My teachers in college pronounce it like this "Nietchee or Ne-chee" I don't know who to trust....probably the people with doctorates though....

  • @vhhsairsoft You should trust this video. Search Youtube for "Friedrich Nietzsche (4/5) - "Ihr sollt Dichter eures Lebens sein!"" and listen to how people in his country pronounce it, at 0:08.

  • thats wrong it is pronounced:

    toa-ster , toa - ster , toaster

  • Why am I watching all of these?

  • @Broden124 I keep asking myself the same question! I just can't stop though... It's like a train wreck and you have to look.

  • nayantztz-ntzschay

    you moron

  • A mnemonic for the correct pronunciation:

"There's nothing Nietzsche couldn't teach ya' bout' the raising of the wrist,

    Socrates himself was permanently pissed."

"My ancestors were Polish nobility (Niëzky)." -- Friedrich Nietzsche

    @pronunciationbook

Correcting an American pronunciation of a Germanized Polish name. Time well spent.

  • it's actually pronounced :

    [tu-law-ng-did-ent-reed]

  • N-eye-eh-unce-ts-chay

  • nee-et-skee

  • Yatze.

  • @Snapboy7764

    well done.

  • @TimothyJamesHunting Welding.

  • @Snapboy7764

    lame.

  • why is there an a at the end? i pronounce nietzsche always as with an e in the end

  • @TheRealityJack @DarrenRyanMurphy Because this is the original German pronunciation, for some strange reason when his name became popular in the US and other western countries it became 'nee-chee'.

  • @TheRealityJack The e is being pronounced as a schwa, like "uh," not an a. The name phonetically written [niːtʃə] with the schwa being the upside-down e. The American e would be written like [niːtʃi:] and is a different sound. It's just because Americans and French/Germans/etc pronounce their letters differently.

  • Nacho.

  • I pronounce it like neech

  • Pronounce "zkfrekgkrtegbrmswfmre3r33mvdmfbrm" next please.

  • /ˈniːtʃə/...

  • Nii-cha is so big and strong~

  • nya zzt zzt an che.

  • Nice to Nietzche.

  • nitcha

  • Out of all the pronunciation book videos, this is the only one i actually found useful...

  • @whitedwarf13 Seriously? Because a lot of these are wrong.

  • have a Nietzsche day

  • Nietzschechu

  • lol i used to say it as nitchze

  • Nietzche & Chong!

  • Blitzkrieg!

  • I say it as Nee-etch-shuh-hmmm-guy

  • Y AM I HERE?

  • NIGHTSCHE

  • I'm pretty sure it would just be Cartman saying Natzi.

  • How can that be neecha? It clearly says Nietzsche!

  • @zerghalo2 I know you were being sarcastic, but go to Germany and you'll find out how it's pronounced.

  • @davd1986 Indeed, it is sarcasm. . .and I'm learning german. . .can't believe it's not butte-that it's more or less pronounced Neecha. Altough, in spanish, you get used to say Nitshe, because of the easyiness of pronounciation and the fact that e's always sound like e's. But that's another case xD

  • @zerghalo2 i'm also learning german and that does not look too german to me, more dutch or polish

  • @eSpEEonage German and Dutch are related and originate from Old Norse and Saxon

  • @zerghalo2 In this Video it's pronounced correctly...you say it just as he does.

  • @sYmoFilm Wow thanks. Not like we knew that already.

  • nistershire

  • Bless you!

  • Why would you ever think that says NEECHEE. if you speak german than youd know Niet says neet. the z is the same sound at Ts and che says chuh as in the correct phonetic german effing dialect!!!

  • neech-key, it actually on what language your speaking. Nee-chah is how you say in russian.

  • no...its pronounced HESKEY!

  • you still pronounce the last "e" a bit wrong. its a bit deeper

  • "God is dead!"

  • No, it's "mood killer."

  • Hello, nice to neech ya. Pronunciation fail!!!!

  • Monty Python taught me how to pronounce Nietzsche. True story.

  • Nigger, niccer.

  • I thought it was Niet-Nnt-nnt-chee

  • onii-che

  • I always thought it was NEE-ET-CHEE.

  • niciă?

  • But my teachers always said 'NEET-chee.' Hard to get out of the habit now.

  • Nietzcha' the preacha'

  • Woodchuck

  • I always said Nitsee

  • I prefer the French pronunciation: NEECH

It's far more masculine and I think it carries much more strengh to go in line with the spirit of his works.

  • In australia it's NITCH-key

  • I thought it was Neat-Chay

  • It's Nee-cheh, not Nee-chah.
