I have always loved this song and One Republic, but to hear David sing it, it just adds a whole new dimension to it, and that's not taking anything away from the original. David just owns any song he takes on. Like Randy said "when you can sing, you can sing anything", and David sure can. I definitely think he can sing it better live. For a lot of these tour performances he had a cold and he still sounds awesome. If you want to hear a flawless performance of this song check out his Las Vegas one
