I would suggest rather than 450 try get your hands on a 490 Double Pumper.
They are a Nascar Carby. Double Pumper. Awsome Carby.
I had one for trial on my six. But eventually I ran a Predator Carby customised to suit Holden 6. Was a pig of a thing to drive but on the NOS it was awsome.
@202ToranaMan ahh fair enough as you would, I'm buying a VK soon and want to put flowmaster 40 series on it... but laws in Australia are really tight I don't think I'll get away with it. Especially when I put the V8 in it one day
@ItalianStallionLouie Its getting tight here in NZ and the webers make almost as much noise as the exhaust on the street so I am making a cold air box to help make it quiet.
@202ToranaMan yeah i heard they do, my dad said when he had a 300hp hr back in the day that they use to sound awesome, i wanted to put them on my vk aswell but i see that their not that cheap.
@ItalianStallionLouie Yep, they have an amazing sound with trumpets on a straight 6. I decided when I wanted to build a more powerful engine to use webers instead of running injection with an after market computer even though it was already injected and did a 14.3 best with the factory setup. Good luck on the VK build, you could always run a 4-barrel around 450CFM with decent power although the top end power isn't as good as the webers the mid-range and bottom end was awesome.
@202ToranaMan yeah my father always said that downdraft were trouble and to find a pair of webbers but i was looking at manifolds for them with the webbers and im looking at about 2grand new! i might still go with the webbers but a different manifold though. and that's pretty good man! your torana looks and sounds great by the way, over here most cars sound like a clone because they all got xforce or di fillipo mufflers but yours sounds great!
@nzstatoThanks for the feedback mate, I would sell it for the right price complete or just the engine, this engine has absolutely amazed everyone. I actually reached 107mph on 2 of the runs but because I spun on the line only managed 13.1 and 13.3 on those runs. The Chevette is going to be a fun car for sure but we are going to take our time to sort it out before going to radical on an engine.

@ItalianStallionLouie For drag racing I move the exhaust sideways so it flows freely and it gives it a bit more up top.

That's bloody impressive, are you still going to hold onto it since you've hit this mark? You should post your vauxhall build up here
