Most schools are funded locally, and if the LOCALS are in Poverty, then so is the school.

I can vouche for the Head Start Program and since I used to work for the school district in my area I am fully aware of the rule that when a parent does not come by a designated time to pick up their child we were to call the police to have them come take the child; this automatically makes them a ward of the state... I'm so glad I've been teaching my daughter to question everything and she knows to call me immediately if she has any trouble at school with anything related to this crap!

I do my school work at home, and I have to say it is much more efficient than public schools. I have learnt so much, because of my dedication. I couldn't adapt to public schools, it was all to fast, and to boring for me. Plus, how they treat students, and the possibilities of what could happen at schools. I watched a news report where an 8 year old girl was arrested at school for throwing a tantrum. Another kid was tasered, also a very young girl.. It's inhumane

I was an assistant teacher at an elementary school and was so disgusted with what I saw (discrimination, lack of real teaching, a system that passes students even if they do no work, many children medicated or with neurological problems, locking children in empty rooms as punishment, and the police showing up 3 times in 3 months- at an *elementary * school) that I was completely turned off teaching.

I have kids and believe that all parents should take an active interest in their children's education. You would be amazed at the brainwashing, even to the extent that one of my younger children when discussing the natural world was emphatic that humans do not belong here.
