hellos! the hibiscus that you fed, you were referring to the leaves or the flowers? the opuntia you mean the pad cactus right? wud you mind telling the names of the green leafy vegetables even if they are not in english? thanks alot! xDD
They sell radiata torts here in california for about $1500-$2000 for a yearling but they are not as pretty looking as yours. I guess the breeders are keeping the best looking ones. I would too! :)
Hello again, "xtalportal"; So, can you email me your "regular email address", and I can shoot you some awesome pics of my torts. By the way, how did you come to get those Yniphora, I'm very curious ? Can you arrange to get me a couple ? I'm interested. Thanx, John
Hello again: Thanx for your response! How were you able to get the Yniphora ? I'd like to get a couple myself ? I have hatchling Burmese Stars; all US captive-bred (quite rare also). Interested in any trading ? Please shoot me your direct email if you don't mind. I have many other tortoise-types available including Galapagos!! Thanx, John
Hi again, John. Burmese stars are awesome. I've been looking for them. But 4-5cm hatchling stars are not easy to handle, definitely not for me. Hehe.. Not to mention shipping them from US, it's too risky... Wow, u have galaps?!!! Wish i had enuf space for these giants, man! Hmmph... :(
Firstly, you should NOT intermix specimens from different regions, they could give each other very serious viral and/or parasite issues, perhaps fatal! I've seen this happen when Indian Stars & Radiateds have been smuggled together! Death eventually resulted for many of them. Secondly, I'd bet that there are many more "critically endangered" Plowshare tortoises in Asia (illegally) than what's left in the whole of their Madagascar nativeland!! All because of man's "vanity" & "selfishness"!!!
I must say that that is quite an amazing collection. I wanted to ask where you get the 2 baby ploughshares (angonaka) from though? I've never seen them for sale in the USA. Is there a US breeder, or are you outside the US? Thanks!
Great collection! I must tell you though someone is using your pictures trying to scam people into buying tortoises. Though I don't think you can really do anything about it, you should put some kind of copyright or something on your videos...though I don't know how to do that.
you have them all together? in the same box? they shouldn't be separated by species? i have a few and i always thogth that they shoul be separated!!! am i wrong? ;)
certainly can red foot - amazon yellow foot - anazon sulcata - africa leo - african star - india all above are common in pet trade in uk but spider , aldabra , burmese star , radiata are so rare and expensive... i never see yni in uk before i like to import one .. do you have any advise?

Thanks, piledriver. Cudn't be more agree with u. Never keep these tortoises if u can't take all the responsibility seriously.
Fyi, my torts are always kept seperately both indoor n outdoor. What's shown here - mixed together - were only for pics taking.

Is it possible to mix breed Sri lankan X Indian? Or a Radiata star X Sri Lankan?
Declan1205 3 years ago
hi declan, not sure about it.
xtalportal 3 years ago
by the way yniphora is pretty cooool ^^
paulopinho 3 years ago
U r right, they are best kept seperately by species and size. That's what i do.
The problem is, it can be really fun to watch them all eat together after the morning bath :)
Ynip is awesome, altho many are too shy.
