GOD!! Joanna Cameron was a stone FOX!!! All the guys I knew were in LOVE with her back in the day! She was the one bright spot that made the SHAZAM/ISIS Adventure Hour worth watching! Capt. Marvel was SO lame and campy even when I was a kid!
tell me something, why can't Saturday morning's still have programs like this? These were good shows, I remember I could'nt wait till the next new lineup. Todays shows are not like this any more. Remember Six Million dollar man, Bionic Woman, Loveboat, Fantasy Island, shows that were fun to watch, not like all the reality crap we have on TV these days.
@phantasm4499 It is all about money these days. Just look at of what is happening out there from politics to corporations. Greed and more greed. And they wonder why things are so messed up economically and socially. Greed of one of the 'Seven Deadly Enemies of Man'.
@phantasm4499 for one , producers have focused their marketing departments on reality and competition shows mostly. And all those shows a hypocritically based with some sort of judging panel / and or / elimination factor. People now like taking their agression out on each other (on these reality shows). A show like Isis was made in the early 70's, tv was still technically in its infancy, so it wasnt trying to push boundaries or be overly exploitive (like now).
@Timesobserver Yeah. I know people liked Isis, but CIndy wasn't bad either. I have no clue why they replaced her the second season, but the second season was only like 6 episodes. So she didn't miss out on much.
@kungfooed I thought Cindy could hold her own pretty well. It's a shame she got replaced in the second season. Seeing Cindy and Isis together must have been the highlight of young teen boys everywhere on Saturday mornings!
@Timesobserver probably as simple as a conflict of schedules... actress playing cindy was probably employed elsewhere, when they wanted to produce the second series.
@kungfooed I thought Cindy could hold her own pretty well. It's a shame she got replaced in the second season. Seeing Cindy and Isis together must have been the highlight of young teen boys everywhere on Saturday mornings!
i news to watch isis very afternoon after school i love the show got a vodie of it for my kids to watch they little that wonder woman to thank you for theminder
I was looking for stuff with 70's Firebirds, besides The Rockford Files and Smokey and the Bandit, when I remembered ISIS! That red 'bird stayed yellow for the rest of the series, which wasn't very long.
Funny how Andrea went to the library to research newpaper articles about old car theft rings- yet didn't think to lock her OWN car. Yeah, I know they hotwired it but I doubt they've have wanted to attract too much attention if they'd had to break into a locked car! Also, that must have been a very powerful microscope light to be able to for her see the acrylic paint. Anyway, it was fun and thanks for posting!
Hatshepsut. Female Pharaoh from 1479 to 1458 B. C. 18th dynasty. Her consort was her brother Thutmose III who shared the throne, but she was the recognized power. He succeeded her upon her death. It is said that she decorated her saddle with the severed penises of her enemies.
See, this is what I mean. SuperMAN gets to save the planet, BatMAN gets to save Gotham, but Isis gets to solve a minor rash of car thefts in the suburbs.
I checked at IMDb. Her last appearance in front of the camera was in 1980, when she would have been 29. I would guess she got married and consequently gave up acting.
She had a guest role on the short lived Spiderman TV series, then went on to direct promotional films for the US Air Force. She had basically dropped out of acting by the 80's. I believe that she had some unpleasant experiences.
you know they just do not make cartoons and shows like this anymore. ah,the good old days,i too remember watching ISIS,shazam, superfriends, battle of the planets,he-ma,she-ra,all saturday day morning show, from 7-12 every saturday. of course my parents b*tch at it of course, they kept saying i should go outside and enjoy the sun.
If they did do an Isis movie it would be cool if she fought the Terrorists. I bet this series would be banned in most Middle East countries because she is not covered up enough. She was and is still hot!
You know, this is the very first time I've seen this because even though I was a young kid being brought up on the Bionic Woman and Wonder Woman (*swooooon*),"The Secrets of Isis" was never shown in Britain. Got some of the original DC comics from the late '70's and now I might by the DVD when it comes out over here. It's what saturday morning kids tv was all about...(*sighs*) those were the days...
Yeah, I was more into Isis than Wonder Woman as a kid. I remember I used to drag the living room TV into my bedroom on early Saturday mornings so I could jerk off to Isis in privacy. ;) Sometimes I was lazy (TVs were big in the 70s too) and just did my business quietly in the living room praying mom and dad wouldn't catch me. :)
Wow! Cool beyond measure. Am I the only one who thinks the Amulet Presenting Heiroglyphs in the opening of Isis is seen in the background of the full opening of "Desperate Housewives."
wow! my flashback to childhood's complete - Shazam, Electa Woman (Deidre Hall, anyone?) & DynaGirl & Isis...wonder if they'll make this into a movie? kinda hope not, but if they did...coool!
So I was about 9 years old and The Secrets of ISIS was my favorite Saturday morning show. Johanna Cameron was one of the sexiest women I knew of on TV! And what ever happened to kids shows that had a moral to story???
classic '70s saturday morning tv rules! I watched ISIS and Shazam! every saturday. then at noon when all the cartoon were over for the day, I'd be outside playing. those were the days. *sigh*
Yes, t hey were sweet days, with theme songs on the sitcoms and cool Saturday programs. Would you believe that my 4th grade teacher pronounced "Isis" as "iz iz", as did all the other teachers? Sheesh, didn't they take Egyptology or something to get their college degrees?
In one episode Rick said he would like to marry someone who looks like Isis and cooks like Andrea. Then Andrea said he was a chauvanist or something, haha.
Okay, so Andrea knows there are car thieves but she leaves her Trans Am unlocked anyway? And what's up with Cindy Lee? Is she that stupid too? LOL. :-) I would love to see part 2, so we can at least experience the Isis transition.
nah, doorlocks in those days were just to keep us from falling out of cars. nobody thought anyone would steal. haven't you heard? the world was perfect back then.
