This doesn't sound like 'contact' to me. (If we showed up w/ airy music like this those dang aliens would just have us for breakfast... and enjoy all our planet's 'kinfolk' for lunch!). It is a lovely thing though. Sounds like a dream... an idealized meeting. As something of a lover of sci-fi, (I'm not familiar w/ the movie itself) this sounds more like fantasy, a Tolkien fairytale. Good music though.

Another great example of a collaboration between two great film score composers, Alan Silvestri ( Cast Away ) and William Ross ( My Dog Skip }. This wonderful theme soars and takes you on a musical journey, at other times it's very gentle and touching. Masterful use of the entire orchestra combined with a wonderful underlying piano solo. I hear so much of those two film scores in this one, the influence of William Ross is unmistakable. Thank you for a wonderful posting for all to enjoy.
