  • Actually given that Joe Sixpack has really weak forearms and pumped biceps this is a great exercise. The EZ bar curl is recommended AFTER you do the straight bar curls.

  • I've got to say that in my case he is absolutely spot in this video, however that's not to say what is best for one is best for all.

    In my biceps workouts the EZ bar is completely useless and therefore redundant.

  • this is fucking bullshit. Too easy on the bicep? please shut the fuck up. using EZ only forces your hands a LITTLE inwards so you dont get wrist problems. Using a straight bar is good. But its kinda tough to get it ALL the way up for your wrists. some people can, some people cant.

  • I use EZ bar because my wrists don't feel like I have arthritis afterwards. To me, join protection is more important than rate of gain.

  • @glocksplosion I agree with you. He may be technically correct about not being fully supinated, but my wrists feel like hell after using the straight bar. It's just not worth it.

  • Agree; the only disagreement is that the hands can in fact be that wide apart, or even wider, as long as it's a straight bar-wide or narrow simply affects different angles inner/outer of bis but both work.

  • Absolutely true, in regards to standing curls. The only ways to use an EZ curl bar effectively for biceps is to use the close grip area of the bar for preacher curls. That keeps the wrists sufficiently upwards to make it effective.

  • I completely agree with this video. At first I thought the EZ-bar was the best way cause it feels more natural but it's just not true. It's an excellent way to lower the stress on your wrists though. I'm studdying to become a personal trainer and this is exacly what we are taught. The best way to target the bicep is by using --> dumbell < straight bar < EZ-bar.

  • this just isnt true... the natural position of the hands when hanging down with the bar is to be slightly turned in... try it, it even feels unconfortable to straighten the hands... that was the whole point of the bicep bar in the first place....

  • People use the EZ bar INCORRECTLY. It is very easy to acheive full supination with an EZ bar. Why can't people understand this. Just turn the bar 90 degrees so that the "W" is parallel with the floor. Wrists are turned up, you have a perfect angle for close AND wide grips. Your wrists are STILL saved from strain, AND... If your bar has a deep enough bend, you can do hammer curls with the same bar. Do I have to make a video to show you?

Invece per non farsi male ai polsi è meglio usare la barra angolata e non è vero che non si sforza il bicipite nella sua interezza perché la posizione più comoda dei polsi consente di esaurire totalmente il muscolo.

Poor form leads to injury to yourself, unless you're dumb enough to use it in an instructional video, then poor form leads to injury to everyone who watches the video... all 2.7 million of them.
