Absolutely true, in regards to standing curls. The only ways to use an EZ curl bar effectively for biceps is to use the close grip area of the bar for preacher curls. That keeps the wrists sufficiently upwards to make it effective.

People use the EZ bar INCORRECTLY. It is very easy to acheive full supination with an EZ bar. Why can't people understand this. Just turn the bar 90 degrees so that the "W" is parallel with the floor. Wrists are turned up, you have a perfect angle for close AND wide grips. Your wrists are STILL saved from strain, AND... If your bar has a deep enough bend, you can do hammer curls with the same bar. Do I have to make a video to show you?

I've got to say that in my case he is absolutely spot in this video, however that's not to say what is best for one is best for all.
In my biceps workouts the EZ bar is completely useless and therefore redundant.

I use EZ bar because my wrists don't feel like I have arthritis afterwards. To me, join protection is more important than rate of gain.

let me tell u beginners this,,,,,,believe it or not....compounds like benchpress and seated row will actually build bigger and stronger arms than any pussy ass isolation....un only use isolations because its easy easy easy....its human nature 2 go the easy way out! concentrate on a bigger bench press or a bigger deadlift or bentover row ect and ur arms will grow muscles where u havnt seen them b4!

Somebody should teach Joe that he isn't supposed to use his back when he's working his Biceps... Poor form leads to injury to yourself, unless you're dumb enough to use it in an instructional video, then poor form leads to injury to everyone who watches the video... all 2.7 million of them. Congratulations for putting nearly 3 million people at risk for back injury by using an inept demonstrator :-)

umm hey dumbass stand firm dick, the e.z. curl bar is made so you can use the inner portion too, allowing you to do a closer grip, thus letting you get an even fuller rep. plus the e.z. bar reduces stress on your wrist... didnt know that did you? work out one day and you might learn something.

My bicep routine varies but i have to admit that doing straight bar curls are the best.I find theres more concentration on the bicep creating more peak to it.And doing them slow is even better.

wowww nobody take advice from this because this will tear your wrists if you fully extend. You need to fully extend to work the biceps the best but if u do then your wrists will tear, easy curl bar keeps ur wrists perrfectly in line and works the biceps just as hard (: subscribe if you wanna talk about anything fitness

THAT IS NOT TRUE. YES YOU DO NEED TO TURN YOUR WRIST UP BUT USING THE BARBELL WILL SCREW UP YOUR TENDONS I WOULD DO IT WITH DUMBELLS BUT BARBELS IN THAT POSITION IS BAD ON YOUR WRIST AND ELBOW TENDONS.

I do agree with what he's saying it has taken me a long 6 weeks to build my 12' guns and I ain't hatin' it, for the first 3 weeks I used the Ez curl bar and nothing happened but in the last 3 weeks my arms have grown from 11 an 3/4 inches to a massive 12' and this friday night I will drink 16 budweisers to celebrate my conquest.
