On August 11 1947, the British protectorate of Baluchistan declared its independence. Three days later, Pakistan also became an independent nation. But the two states coexisted for less than a year. In March 1948, Pakistan invaded and seized Baluchistan.
Under threat of imprisonment, the traditional Baluch leader, the Khan of Kalat, Mir Ahmed Yar Khan, was pressured to sign a treaty of integration. This treaty was, however, never agreed by the Baluchistan parliament and never mandated by the Baluch people. Ever since, for 61 years, Baluchistan has been subjected to Pakistani military occupation, political domination, economic exploitation and cultural hegemony.

Balochistan should be given its independence. The Balochis are muslims, and unlike the extremist Pakistanis, are for the most part quite moderate in their outlook. A free Balochistan will be a great asset to the US and the civilized world in its fight against Pakistani extremism.

So did Bugti, but the question is why should he when it was not his responsibility. Baluchistan budget was limited and not enough fo what was needed. read a book and get your facts straight. That Bugti lived a far more simpler life than any of the paki upscale families,that anyone in DHA,Gulberg etc.He drove a Toyota SSR 94/95 ,people in upscale paki towns drive Mercedes and Lexus etc,he hosted three meals everyday open to all, he even provided everyone in Dera Bugti a monthly allowance of 5k, he took care of the wild life in Dera bugti and he's also responsible for declaring the Hazar Ganji a Wildlife Sanctuary.
Its time to give equal rights to all citizen of Pakistan if rulers wants Pakistan be united before its too late. They must understand only Punjab is not Pakistan. Sindh, Baluchistan and Pushtoonkha are also part of Pakistan and citizens of Sindh, Baluchistan and Pushtoonkha must be treated with respect and honor their resources should be consumed to feed and strength Punjab.
Pakistan Army is doing the same mistake they did in 1971 against Bengalis and the result was creation of Bangladesh. This is obvious with brutal state force no army can rule hearts of people.
