  • I have been an airplane guy for 30 years and thanks to that think called "peer pressure" I just had to try a helicopter so I went out and bought a TREX 450 clone. Your video was a life saver setting up my DX8 and I want to say thanks! Now its off to let my instructor check it over and see if all this chopper stuff is worth the hype!

  • @themongrel712 Thank you sir. Glad that you could use my tips

  • Hi Arctic...I just subscribed to your Channel & your Video's are Awesome!! I just bought a DX8 and this video helped alot!!...now I just have to learn how to set up the D/R Expo's & I'll be set!...Thanks so much for the Help!

  • @61espo what are you gonna use DR and EXPO on?

  • @ArcticRc Thats what i would like to know...I was told that I had to use it setting up my Trex 700e??

  • @61espo Ok.. Im on thin ice here.. Never heard about it. I know that someone use Expo for smaller helis but a 700? Please Contact Alishanmao here on youtube. He will be able to help you. Ps does it say so in the manual for the 700 or is it just other people that say so

  • @ArcticRc HI Bengt, thought I'd tune in here. It is quite normal to used around 25% expo on cyclic and rudder controls for helicopters of all sizes. I use it on all of my helicopters, ranging from 450 - 550 - 700 size. Cheers.

  • @cruddbucket Great info my friend. I allways wondered about that. Cause i learned not to. But when i think of it i can really understand why. Perhaps my tic toc's would be more stable. I will try it out now on my new aeolus. So 25% is enough then? Thank you so much

  • @ArcticRc Yes 25% is plenty I think you will enjoy it. It really smooths out the cyclic inputs. Let me know how it goes!

  • @cruddbucket Allways.. Again thank you

  • @ArcticRc It's Mentioned in the Manual if you have a Unstable hover. I guess you can use it to calm down a Sensitive Heli when your Hovering. Mine is all over the place in a hover. I can't seem to get it to not be so sensitive..

  • @61espo My hover is stable but when i try tic tocs or other tricks my heli allways turn.. But after using expo it calms more during flips. Great Tips from Crudd

  • I really learned a lot in this video, especially since I'm thinking of going with the Spektrum Tx for my Align Trex 450 Pro and Sport builds. Thank You also for doing this in english!

  • @R3L72 just great to help. Fly safe

  • Can some one explain what the 3 aux port are for on the ar8000 and which one is for the battery supply

  • Hey Thanks, Ive only just got my DX8 back Its now from HH, DSMX and now its time to play cant wait to fly my Atom 500 :)

  • once more time, thx for your help.

I have been tried all of you said. I think that the heli is better but not totally fixed. I will going to trying something more like exchange the foam tape or change the servo.

Finally, if all that fail, I'll try to put a spartan gyro with a futaba s9276 servo.

    thx. C'ya.

  • Thank you so much for your explanation...

lol, so, I'm Brazilian's guy and how did you see, I don't speak english very well.

    I've a Spektruma DX8 released by 2.01 firmware and a gp780 align gyro with ds620 servo mounted on a t-rex 600ESP (eletric).

  • @carnegiebacelarnunes Move your gyro to the bottom center of the heli with a thick foam tape. if you have smaller heli than a 600 set your gyro for small heli.. this will help a lot.. i did this to my Align 550E

  • Great tutorial!!!

    I'm beginner in this hobby...

    So, I`ve some simple questions.

First, Why did you lowerdown the throttle subtrim?

Second, I put the gain on 27% how to you explain on another video but I can`t get rid the tail wag and drift.

    Congratulations for your post!!

    thx.

  • @carnegiebacelarnunes hi.. reasons for lowering the throttle is that the throttlecurve starts a 0 % by doing so makes your Electric heli/plane start sort of softer.. if you throttle is all the down and the trim is set at middle it could also happen that you heli wont connect to the ESC.. But in Nitro you use the throttletrim to adjust the air valve in you engine making it start. When use of throttlecut the transmitter will overwrite these setting

  • @carnegiebacelarnunes When it comes to your tailwag it's great to know what gyro you have.. but try about 30 to 35% gain if you have the DX8 do you have dx6 or 7 go the other way 75-70% To reset gyro set all settings on 0% plug in the battery and let the reciver connect. then turn it of and now adjust Gyro.. Tell me what gyro you have and i'll try to find a fix for you

  • Great video :-)

  • We have snow here also , more to come I think

  • If I came there I am afraid I would not want to leave : )

  • @jefferydonkeith1 well right now there is an snow storm here heheh

  • Love that radio and your channel Arctic !!

  • @jefferydonkeith1 Thanks Jeff.. If you ever stop by Norway you have an invitation to my place and fly as much as you want hehe

  • I wish I had the money to buy a Spektrum...

  • @somezade You will for sure get the money on day. Use internet to search cause you maybe lucky and get it cheaper some other place

  • cool thks

  • I left out to tell that Throttlecut shuts down the engine and is used for Nitro/gas engines. Throttle hold is used for electric and nitro. Hold makes engine just idle on nitros and cuts power for electric engine. These two settings must be asigned to different switches. You don't wanna cut your nitro engine during autos.
