I have smoked for ritual purposes and for me it depends on what I'm doing in ritual. If I need to meditate or I need visuals or just want to clear my head and find peace, I will smoke up for that. However, when I'm doing a ritual where I need to focus my energy towards something, being high for that is not my thing at all. My mind starts to wander and I cannot focus at all. So for me there are good times in ritual to smoke and not good... again, that's just for me.

if you feel greater, better, more focused and spiritual using weed then why the hell not intake it for magickal purposes? but if it just makes things worse, or you don't feel comfortable smoking it, then it shouldn't be done...you know? it only makes sense....
I tend to go back and forth between ceremonial and freeform. Most of my stuff in my own practice has been freeform, but with a Coven, we've done more ceremonial stuff. I tend to be a mix and use whatever I'm in the mood for.
im more the second kind of pagan. my magick is more spontanious. i do use variouse substances for my working depending on the kind of spell/ritual. cannabis and other mind altering substances have been used forever in the spiritual world, so im continuing the tradition. :)
I have used it for meditation purposes both inside and outside of the magic circle. Those were some interesting journeys I must say, but yes all things in moderation =)

Weed? Hmmmm. Well tobacco is in some caces more dangerous then weed. Unfortunatly I was Brainwashed by D.A.R.E so I really don't know much about weed's medicinal and spiritual properties. But if it works for some, good, just use it in moderation.
About what you said with the getting headaches and such with not grounding yourself . . . my first ritual I didn't know what that was, so I ended up actually getting severe headaches and passing out. I told my teacher, and she laughed and explained what happened . . . I felt like an idiot. :D
