Not sure why people think the ref stopped this fight early, or that the guy could have "fought his way out of it". Lets go over the facts- They started from an even position, but in just 15 seconds she bodyslammed him ( 2:19 ), and overpowered him on he ground, & gained a dominent position- from there she pounded him with about 15 unanswered punches & the guy was no longer defending himself. He was done. Would people prefer the ref allow her to beat him uncounsious? He was in serious danger.
Did you notice at the very end how fast the guy sprung back to his feet, had this been a real fight-say like a street fight he would have killed her period!

She is listed at 5 foot 9 and 158 but has wrestled and won a national championship at 72 kilos (about 165 lbs.) and was a runner up at 82 kilos (about 180). I have no idea what weight she fought at here; is in good shape regardless.
He may have bounced back up after the fight was stopped but she had him. He wasn't getting out of that mount position. A few more stiff shots and she may have KO'd him. It was a good job by the ref stopping the fight. All he got hurt there was his pride and a few marks. Size advantage or not, she's tough.

Anyway, he went to hit her after the ref had removed her- he showed NO respect.

She is clearly a good fighter, but the one thing that always stands out in moxed fights is that the man rarely hits the female. He seems to spend most of the time shielding himself from being hit, but rarelr tries to punch back.

This is as close as it gets when it comes to a man and a woman duking it out in a contact sport. Obviously, the guy has little or no training and the gal does (you can tell she has the physique of an athlete), but it´s almost impossible to evenly match a grown male and a grown female in terms of both training and physique in this type of sport. Quite frankly, I think it has never been done except for the movies (I mean the even match-up). If it has, let me know.

1. The woman appears to be a PROFESSIONAL fighter while the man is just picked randomly off the street/the audience
2. The woman has weight advantage
3. The woman has a height advantage
4. The woman has a reach advantage
5. This goes back to #1, the guy is an out of shape couch potato while the woman is an athelete, he ran out of gas after 10 seconds.

as a marine who did wrestling for 12 years and boxed for 3, this girl is cheap and must be a shitty wrestler if she can barely wrestle that guy. she got beat standing up, and towards the end she gave a nutshot which made her win. Anybody who calls this girl a 'bad ass', is only fooling themselves, i saw nothing good in her. The ref stopped it too soon anyway, shes would have lost. Not to mention this is pure cockfighting, cagefighting is completely unjustified, pointless and mindless.

She's actually a great wrestler & may even go to London. She overpowered a grown man, pinned him down and pounded him - and the ref did NOT stop it too soon, the guy was taking a beating and not fighting back. He could have been knocked unconsious if the ref let it keep going, which is very dangerous. The guy was not going to get up and win the fight .... he was done. She IS a badass - she had the courage to get into a cage with a guy who was trying to beat her up, and kicked HIS ass.

Umm.. quit your absurd crying. They were the SAME weight and they were both beginners so it WAS a fair fight. In fact this was Melissa's first cage fight and the guy had fought two before this. Sure she had a more powerful build than the guy, but that does not mean it's a bullshit fight.
Give her some credit - she had the guts to get into a cage against a guy, and she overpowered him and pounded him sensless. She has my respect.

@CPThustla88 - I don't know - I think she's 5'9" 170lbs and she's an elite level athlete so I'm sure she could handle you. It would probably be you who would get ko'd in 5 seconds. She's actually a wrestler by trade so she could probably pin you, make you cry and then choke you unconscious.

We would have a match until someone get up And since there's only going to be the two of us in the room the winner to stop whenever she wants. We would take a one-hour break at which time the loser would be offered the chance of a rematch. If the loser said no fight is over and the loser is just that, a loser. Of course when I win the fight (i will) cause she's just a girl, I would pin her down long enough to humiliate her for getting beat by a man but she'll never show up, I guess she's scared

Okay maybe I'm not giving you enough credit ... you sound crazy enough to put up a good fight against anyone.
But this girl willingly fought a guy who wanted to kick her ass in a cage, so I don't think she is scared to fight anyone. Also I don't think the guy could have "powered out" - he got slammed, roughed up and pounded on.. that takes a lot of energy out of you. You should look past the fact that she's a girl ... she's a strong fighter who could hurt anyone who underestimates her.

We would clear out the living room and that's where we would have our match or fight whatever you want to call it. We would decide on the rules and take it from there. In the video I see the guy could've powered out if he really wanted to but from the looks of it he's not giving the fight 100%. Since he wasn't giving it 100% that way he knows for a fact that she did not beat him, he let her win, in order to save face. This little girl, if she was not afraid, would show up for a match.

Not sure why people think the ref stopped this fight early - or that the guy could have "fought his way out of it". Lets go over the facts - They started from an even position, but within 2:30 she had bodyslammed him, and overpowered him on he ground, and gained a dominent position - from there she pounded him with about 15 unanswered punches and the guy was no longer defending himself. He was done. Would people prefer the ref allow her to beat him uncounsious? He was in serious danger.

She is clearly a good fighter, but the one thing that always stands out in moxed fights is that the man rarely hits the female. He seems to spend most of the time shielding himself from being hit, but rarelr tries to punch back.
Nothing against Mellissa though as I suspect even if he had tried she would probably still have got the upper hand

This is as close as it gets when it comes to a man and a woman duking it out in a contact sport. Obviously, the guy has little or no training and the gal does (you can tell she has the physique of an athlete), but it´s almost impossible to evenly match a grown male and a grown female in terms of both training and physique in this type of sport. Quite frankly, I think it has never been done except for the movies (I mean the even match-up). If it has, let me know.
