  • EXCELLENT VIDEO!

  • could the unified field be identified as GOD and as a wave form or energy when your material mass of body eventually wears out (yuo die) you return to this all knowing, omnipotent consciousness??

  • we are the universe and the universe is us, we are one and the same.

  • This guy is clearly barking mad, and yet he can still, apparently, do useful work in physics.

    Isnt the brain amazing?

  • @betamale3 haha, nice way to put it. its more like scary. mystical nutjob more like it

  • @betamale3 You haven't a clue what he's talking about, have you.

  • We don't have a unified "field". This is a lie, it's the holy grail of Physics because nobody has solved it.

  • I find this very fascinating... just wondering, what major (s) or career does one pursue to reach these type of conclusions on consciousness? I'm trying to figure out what I want to do in the future and this seems like a very interesting and fulfilling subject.

  • @Melancholydreamer everything he says can be experienced through meditation. i don't see science discovering this for some time, but i hopefully im wrong

  • @Melancholydreamer It's called metaphysics. YouTube is probably the best place to learn it from.

  • Comment removed

  • @Melancholydreamer molecular biology perhaps?

  • @Melancholydreamer Theoretical physicist.

  • @Melancholydreamer i had the same question but atheist say that conscienceness is a result off the brain and i disagree i think its fundamental nueroemuology

  • Everybody please attantion! please visit superunified dot

    com

  • consciousness is just what it feels like to have a neocortex.

  • @1072otaj Hahahahahahahaha nice try bud.

Look up the double slit experiment. All particles have consciousness.

  • @mustbeburtreynolds The uncertainty principle describes a simple problem with measurement, not consciousness.

  • @mustbeburtreynolds this might just be the dumbest comment i've ever read on youtube.

  • @009SoundVEVO "I don't even almost understand the physics at play, so I'll just leave a shitty, snide comment with no substance whatsoever."

    Nice try bud.

  • @mustbeburtreynolds I'm a second year PhD student in condensed matter physics. 2 publications, one in progress. What have you done?

  • @009SoundVEVO lololol I totally believe you too.

  • @009SoundVEVO What comment are you referring to?

  • Nerds

  • Dex208....tracking, but when you speak of neurons and say collective- are u saying within a single mind, several minds focused in harmony, or all minds (possibly) if focused (I.e. attentive) and simultaneously conscious of the same thing?

  • guy has a sharp mind. i love the correlation with the different branches of science. its a beautiful and natural thing.

  • The science is what it is...whatever meaning one wants to make of it, is one's right. However, the science cannot be disputed...so we can use it to our advantage and begin to be more deliberate about our thoughts, emotions, actions, inactions, reactions etc...as we know this impacts our own experience of reality as well as the collective's.

  • me like

  • me like it

  • what show is this from?

  • beautifully spoken.

  • Im so glad that i found this. I have always thought this way and now i want to go into physics. We are all just processing the field of consciousness and our personal walls and bounds imbedded in us through media, religion, and government prevent some from being able to experience this.

  • Can someone tell me from which movie this is? In the beginning he talks about a movie.. what movie? From where is this interview taken? Please!

  • @Avelqual it's probably, "What the Bleep do we know". interesting movie. Some claims are true, some are not, like the water experiment. Cool perspective nonetheless.

  • there are senses we cant feel, sounds that we cant hear and dimeonsions we cant see.. reality is much more than shopping and living in fantasy. theres a deeper understanding to our conciousness in everyone.. if u understand how big this SPACE and its magick u undderstand that the universe itself is THE conciousness

  • John Hagelin is a pure genius. look at the world we live...more people know who "the situation" and kim kardiashian are............SMH

  • We as conscious beings have the opportunity to become aware of the truth of Life by way of reason, attention, and honest intention. Let us consciously evolve past deception, division, and temptation. Let us seek Truth, so that we may live united, in harmony with Life's infinite presence. Search for "Truth Contest" in google and click the first result, then click on The Present and read what it says.

  • A powerful old soul with low consciousness brings people down to his level so he can read their minds, and thus manipulate and enslave them. He cannot read minds with high consciousness because the energy vibration is too fast.

A powerful old soul with high consciousness can read minds at every level of consciousness because fast consciousness has the power to read everything below it.

In this way, Shaitan cannot read the mind of Christ, but Christ knows what Shaitan is up to.

    Love always wins.

  • this guy always has creeped me out and i get the feeling that hes full of total shit

  • @barkape He is not full of shit. this guy Is a scientist. You probably put people like Pamela Anderson on a higher pedestal than someone like John Hagelin who has been studying and experienceing what he's talking about for many years.

  • @barkape Any dialect that usually consists of more than 10 words per sentance is always percieved as jargon to the average man due to them having been spoon fed their slogans which has preogressevily conditioned them to automatically have knee jerk reactions towards anything that actually would require someone to get out a dictionary to fully understand. That is the typical reaction when the masses have been mindlessly focusing on Mtv and baseball games.

  • @barkape If articulation creeps you out that only reveals the rediculous paranoia you have towards engaging in any actual deep thought.

  • @shamelessfootfucker someone having a bad day? you seem unprecendently judgemental and impulsive in your reaching of conclusions about other people. and thats your problem. this theory that everything is consciousness has actually been proven wrong by recent research on epileptic patients that shows that it arises from multiple seats in the brain, and is largely an illusion. intuition is a gift... tap into it

  • @barkape ??? Could you give the reference for that study pls

  • @fishybishbash sure. blog.ted. c o m /2009/03/19/where_does_cons/

the article has a link to the actual journal study at the bottom. and theres a great presentation by dan dennet i had previously seen, but was unaware that the site has a link to it it as well. it helps convey the illusory nature of consciousness. everyone should see it BUT i would advise caution if you are excessively materialistic as the physical aspects of the ego are also illuminated as well if one is paying attentio

  • @barkape Can't seem to track that link down - have to say though that the notion that consciousness is 'produced' by the brain has not been proved by any means. David Chalmers is calling it right in this field.

  • @fishybishbash while u put quotes around produced, i would put them around consciousness, it is the multiple aspects of the mind that we interpret as consciousness. u have to click on the article at the link that i posted. and from there.... the link journal study is at the bottom. and david chalmers is a philosopher

  • @barkape I copied and pasted, it doesn't work. It wont show up as a hyperlink in the youtube comments anyway so there's no point clicking it. Chalmers background is in the sciences unlike Dennett, who is also a philosopher. Thats kind of irrelevant however: I dont really see how you can deny the phenomenon of consciousness in the face of subjective experience, but you're free to think that way until someone proves otherwise. Thats the beauty of it.

  • @fishybishbash i dont see how subjective experience points to consciousness. is it really that subjective? we all have general agreements about what we all experience. seems to me that subjective experience is a natural result of different upbringings, experiences, environment... basically conditioning. please enlighten me

  • @fishybishbash and u have to take out the spaces of the link so it looks normal. and it starts with blog

  • @barkape The salient point about subjective experience is that it is impossible to experience anyones consciousness other than your own. From a physiological standpoint it is one of the most striking features of the psyche. You can IMAGINE what it might be like but you cannot experience another's conscious awareness. The mechanism of this property is as yet unexplained.

  • @fishybishbash what you just said proves nothing to me about anything. all man's faculties, take senses for example are "subjective" as you call it but are generally agreed upon by those without testable abnormalities (colorblindness) and can be explained biologically. unrelated ideas. in human history, we weren't conscious at one point and developed it through evolution, which has actually resulted inthe illusion of ego. and search "where does consciousness originate" in google. 3rd one down

  • @barkape I googled. Interesting study but it deals with the mechanics of perception rather than the origin of consciousness. It says that some of the trigger words used in the experiment were 'masked' in order to monitor the difference in brain activity between words which are consciously perceived and those which are not. But you're still conscious when you're not perceiving the masked words. It proves nothing about the nature of consciousness itself.

  • @fishybishbash sure it does.. youve said nothing to persuade me otherwise. and havent responded logically or to a number of my points

  • @barkape Nor you. In fact a lot of what you've said is incoherent; for example

"in human history, we weren't conscious at one point and developed it through evolution, which has actually resulted inthe illusion of ego."

That is totally meaningless nonsense. No science in there whatsoever.

  • @fishybishbash so you probably think trees are conscious. pseudoscience

  • @barkape according to The Secret Life of Plants, yes trees are conscious.

  • @kk52581 u might as well quote the bible. complete pseudoscience

  • anyways. you admit it your lack of logic, while i do not. this leads me to hold no more interest in this exchange. btw that statement holds immense meaning.

  • @barkape Crumbs. I can explain it to you but I cant understand it for you.Search Richard Dawkins - subjective consciousness. I too have lost interest in you and your opinion. At least we have that much in common.

  • @fishybishbash duh that obvious cus we have our own brains. its not a big new idea. consciousness comes from there too

  • @barkape blog.ted.com/2009/03/19/where_does_cons/ thats it right? No spaces - doesn't work.

  • Misdirection and showmanshp. Or else retardedness. Let it be mine.

  • I was thinking, if we researched the world through made up voices in our heads, made up consciousness, maybe what they are actually looking at is the basis of the universe through that viewpoint, i mean, that may be like researching research. Know what i mean?

  • Reach one arm sideways, and the other up. That's like your EIA (Earth Intelligence Agency) antenna.

To reach sideways, tapping into the collective consciousness, you must love everyone in the world. Love connects us to others.

To reach up, communicating with Heaven, you must love everyone in Heaven. Love connects us to others.

Love God with all your heart, mind, soul, and strength. Then you can finally see forward into the present, see the whole world at once, out of the past at last.

  • The ELITE don't want the masses to understand that they're god and are the creator of their own life by thoughts, feelings, and actions.

  • He comes across more like a hypnotist than a scientist ! Has he told the scientific community he has found the unifying theory of everything ? He claims this is "consciousness"..he may be right but this is not real science. His manner strongly indicates that he absolutely believes in what he says. He is clearly saying he believes in God-95% of scientists do not. I'm sure he would do well in something theatrical-he has the gift !

  • @brindow1 where did you take all those conclusions from? you seem to be the one playing cynical here. He speaks passionately, like any scientist that love his job. Besides, google him before you missjudge his position within science. Personally i'm 100 % ahteist, and I can't find anything directly religious in what he is saying besides explaining the modern complexities of physics.

  • @quasiorcor I did say he MAY be right. I'm open. Lets look at this in another way then..what % of the scientific community do you think accept his hypothesis could be correct ? Also, if not GOD ..how would you describe what he feels about "consciousness" being the very much sought after unifying force? Sorry if I upset you a bit with one or two of my comments, its just that iv'e never come across a scientist talk the way he does ! He sort of sings his words and theatrical type.

  • @brindow1 we'll just have to read more about it, In fact I've read a bit more about him and aparently he is a big supporter of transcendal meditation. There is probably a connection between his two interests. I really like the idea of his theory. But I would like to see it in practice, there is too much room for hypotheses in quantum physics to believe in everything.

  • @quasiorcor I wonder if he's right with his hypothesis. However, it's not exactly his theory..I remember reading somewhere around 30 yrs ago about "consciousness" being the unifying theory of everything. How hard will this theory be to prove ? Gravity for example is invisible but so is "consciousness". Why doesn't gravity have consciousness ? But according to another hypothesis, EVERYTHING in the universe is consciousness..if so is that admitting God ? I need a drink !

  • @brindow1 I don't think that believing that there is a "sea of consciousness", as he said it, linking everything in the universe has to be conected with the existance of God. (take for example buddhism, a life philosophy without any gods that still believes in a universal conection). I believe such a theory points out that there is a unifying force making everything relative to each other, both directly and indirectly. Reminding that we as human beings only experience the third dimension

  • SO- ON SOME LEVEL- IT EXISTS (-HYPOTHETICALLY) AS A GIANT CRYSTAL BALL OF INFINITE ENERGY (-AND IS SOLID) ...AS A PARADOX -AND IS DIVIDED ‘INTO’ INFINITY –AND IS INSIDE-OUT?! THUS, NATURE IS DIVIDED ‘INTO’ INFINITY, AND IS INSIDE-OUT! ANOTHER WAY TO EXPRESS THIS IS ASK THE QUESTION ...IS THERE A PLACE WITHOUT ‘TIME’ –OR A ‘TIME’ WITHOUT PLACE? -THERE IS NO TIME WITHOUT ‘FACE’ ...IS THE ANSWER TO THIS ONE!!!”

  • “THE LOGIC ‘IMPEDIMENT’ OF NATURE IT THAT IT IS ‘DEFINED’ IN THE INFINITE ...LITERALLY, WHERE NATURE ARRIVES TO DEFINE EXISTENCE ...EXISTENCE ARRIVES TO DEFINE NATURE; AND NATURE BECOMES DEFINED BY ITS ‘BOUNDARY!?’ AS AN EFFECTIVE ‘HOOVER’ OF EXISTENCE –‘DEFINED’ IN THE INFINITE!

  • 5:25 when he finishes speaking... the interview is like "what the fuck?". I'm surprised the government hasn't gagged Doctor John Hagelin in his research. Eventually people won't need to use drugs to see everything is infact as they have always said... connected and that the reinforcement of the ego or self is what is causing 99% of the problems in this world.

  • So uh, if anyone's interested, he's maniplated data in rgards to this stuff. He's talkin about things such as meditation having magic powers. Man's a quack. I'm sure his study of physics is great, but Newton's study of gravity was great, too. Man was an alchemist. As in lead into gold. Both are quacks.

  • I suppose we all have at least one thing in common. It's a shame we can't build on it.

  • try to be conscious without your brain, Dr Hagelin by cutting it off.

  • @levleung2000 The brain is the vehicle by which we experience consciousness, yes. That doesn't necessarily confirm anything about its nature. Its self evident that there is only one consciousness; thats the one you're experiencing. Try experiencing someone else's. You wont get very far.

  • As simple as only a she or he (who has experience the spirit within) will then know the field remember Dr. Hageline The inimitable experiment of the unified field theory tap into the resurrection of the holy spirit coming soon 2012 Enlightenment (you still have not answer me,( It’s such a shame you haven’t?)

  • I often wonder what it would feel like to be born with no senses. Try to imagine it. I think that perhaps this is how the life force began, then through evolution (of all physical life, along with the senses) it became able to experience the universe in different ways. Ramachandran talks of a "body map" in the brain. This is so the life force knows where it is, like we use maps to know where we are. Cut off a limb and the consciousness still thinks there is a limb, because of the body map.

  • I badly want to get Hagelin's book from Ebay, but why is it always so goddamn expensive? I'd settle for 'The idea of consciousness' by Max R. Bennett, but even that's £50 a shot. Chhh. Recessions shouldn't effect books, bwoy.

  • This gets us nowhere.

  • Having actually studied quantum field theory I can trll you that this is mostly bullshit.

  • I agree. My biggest question is: why the hell doesn't this exist as a subject in highschool ? This is what people should learn in order to change their lives. Start now, guys, NOW is CHANGE

  • Pantheism

  • If only human could grasp this theory; then they will become very delightful to human existence, and there be no more hostilities and the world we live. Give me some feedback Dr. Hageline on my channel I have something that you would find fascinating.

  • The problem of this math it reacts toward the expectation of its profound which is the collapse of the (wave function) then becomes (the observer outcome) “thyself become dynamic= to intelligent, to then absorb deep within out; “then finds the answer of success...it become the expedient result in (physics which is a problem. But not to me I know how to solve this arithmetic Dr. John Hageline: it’s a very unique theory: therefore it’s very constructive to me.

  • Interesting.

  • how does he knows? ...

  • hes speaks like the tin man from the wizard of OZ, I like him already

  • 40 years of transcendental meditation and sidhis technique has NOT got me to enlightenment. I now believe for better or worse that Thaddeus Golas may be right in saying that while in human form we have to obey the laws of what he calls 'being energy,' meaning rapid fluctuations between being conscious and unconscious, flickering like a movie - creating the illusions of time and space. The world of pure consciousness is a conceptual world and of no use in the 'energy' state of being physical.

  • EXTREMELY well spoken

  • Does electron have consciousness ? Molecular biology and molecular evolution Cosmology and cosmic evolution If Universe evolves can electron evolve too? Does evolution of life begin on electron’s level? Origin of life is a result of physical laws that govern Universe. Electron takes important part in this work Question Why does the simplest particle - electron have six formulas: E=h*f, e = +ah*c , e = -ah*c, +E=Mc^2, -E=Mc^2, E= ∞ ? Electron is not as simple as we think
  • He understands the structure of our universe on a physical basis. More important, he has quite obviously experienced this unified field of intelligence on a personal level. No one can explain it so well without having experienced it. One can only truly know the field by personal experience and that requires breaking down limiting beliefs. Not for everyone but possible for all. These quantum physics/consciousness gurus are spot on, and graciously continue to cast their pearls among the swine.

  • @OMaolcaolthu you know he is a particle physicist right ? I don't agree with all his claims but he is much more intelligent then you and I.

  • Humans clearly do affect the outer reality with consciousness - see videos called, "Dr Oz - Quantum-Touch and My World", and "The New Human 1".

  • I think he is talking about the same thing as Chalmers.

  • @up4Balangan Only in as much as they both discuss the nature of consciousness.

  • Does anyone know this video is from which program? Thanks!

  • Theorists need to apply Occam's razor.

  • He is engaging the interviewer. The interviewer is the object in front of him and he is effectively communicating with him by using his hands, his tone, and his expressions. Words, language, "symbols" allow our brain to paint a picture. Mind is different from the brain. Mind is "magical". Quantum mechanics is "magical". If the mind allows the brain to visualize quantum mechanics, could possibilities then become reality through rational choices?

  • @amw1978dc what do u mean "affected?" I like his voice

  • Comment removed

  • I mean he's from Pittsburgh, and no one there sounds like such a complete nancy. Skip to 5:38 in the clip, and you'll see what I mean. His word choice is also too deliberate; he overuses the word "brilliant", especially when describing the interviewer's questions; it's hyperbolic and patronizing. I literally know a male prostitute who talks like this guy. It's a very contrived and manipulative way to speak.

  • @amw1978dc thanks for bringing that up i aggree with your critique here. All of his body language and even his tone of voice seem very hypnotizing. Good job at bring that to attention. I agree with the speaker here though about existence and the universe emmitting intelligence, and that as you dissect upon dissect matter it get much much more complicated, however i think this could be redirected at God being the source that holds everything together and gives it purpose. My 2 sense however...

  • His voice is so affected. It makes it hard to take him seriously.

  • @amw1978dc I was juuust thinking that. I want to like him and his ideas...and at root, I agree with him on most points...but, he doesn't seem genuine at all.

  • Wow! String Theory has been proven valid!? I never realized. I thought it was still conjecture. Oh, wait...it is still just a conjecture. We're all just waves, man. No doubt it was the interference of these waves that canceled out this man's grasp of real physics. Wave functions are made of the same stuff that thought is made of? Yeah, I say that episode of Star Trek, The Next Generation too. I just didn't know anyone was paying tuition to hear that crap.

  • @Pandaemoni - Ok, if thought is not made of wave functions, then WHAT IS THOUGHT?? I await your answer.

  • @goldie0800 Assuming you're serious (ya never know), asking what thought is made of is like asking what love is made of." Poetry aside, love and thought are particularized states occurring (so near as we know and ignoring dualist theories) completely in the brain. In other words, "thought" is the name we give to electrochemical states and ionic flows within the cerebellum that we subjectively experience as a deliberative process. The states are made up of molecules in special configurations.

  • @goldie0800 PS: Technically he didn't say "thought is made of wave functions," but that wave functions and thought are made of the same thing. Most physicists would say, though that the wave functions are not "real" but are mathematical abstraction, not real (material or immaterial) components of the universe.

If he has proof that they are real, that would be big news.

  • @Pandaemoni - Ah well, we are brought back to, "What is Reality?" What is 'real' about Reality? If thought isn't real, what is?

    ;- )

  • This guy is the definition of Eloquence. (btw He really reminds me of those Movementarianism people in that simpsons episode. "Na na na na na Leader, Leader)

  • @dilligaf450 it would still be relieving to see someone like john hagelin start stuttering and throw curse words around, yeah...

  • I like this video. The theory is amazing to me, but it seems more religion that science. There is a leap of faith involved, which I wish to utterly avoid if possible.

  • I'm waiting for Deepak Chopra to step into view!

I bet this guy gives Deepak a transcendental boner!

  • Maybe I missed something... Fundamental Rules Do Not Equal to anything other than forms/processes which are foundational. Claiming anything beyond what they do seems to be conjecture...

  • We are all at different levels of consciousness -- some of us at college level, and some of us at kindergarten level.

Does the college student go into the kindergarten room and yell at the little kindergarteners for not knowing their colors yet? That would be mean.

We are all learning in our own good time. God is not finished with us yet.

  • I like the explanation of the universe as being a single entity which may behave in different ways, either as an infinite spatial entity = fully consciousness / as a mass entity with no consciousness / or as an energy entity which rapid vibrates between space and mass ( called human existence). See Thaddeus Golas' book Love and Pain for a fuller explanation. He was critical of new age explanations packaged as science and deserved more attention - but he was not interested in being a guru.

  • "Hagelin was appointed Raja of Invincible America by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi and is also President of the US Peace Government. "

  • Be careful about this guy, he has a rather big agenda. Just read the wikipedia page.

  • @skilpatrickable yes, be afraid.. be very, very afraid.. your statement was also said by people when earth was discovered to be round and not flat.. and was probably also said when the wheel was invented..

  • This guy's 'model' is a poor metaphor for the truth. String theory is a terrible model that can be explained using simpler classical methods to unite mind and matter. Einstein must have understood this but was too petrified to say anything.

  • This man is just trying to find this world peace in this world for the human race' but yet you are all to blind to see.soon i will stand by his sideTO PROVE every single word he speak about the unified field is true; The inimitable experiment of the unified field theory tap into the resurrection of the holy spirit coming soon 2012. AND APPROVE BY THE HOLY SPIRIT...Prepare all soul for anlightment Because a new age has just begun!!!

  • @65Jupiter haha - easy tiger

  • @fishybishbash I like your comment, but you know what i like the most about you' your vocabulary this unique word "EASY" for me is a very powerful word it mean to me straightforward with no failing and no complication then i wlll lower my intropy and become superdynamic within the emptyness of??? and then i will become with this full of creation power to manifest what ever i desired in EVOLUTION?) THANK YOU FISHY. and by the way you sound like my brother- haha take care May god bless you.

  • More than a bit too premature in his pronouncements - and with what vulgar hubris!

  • for Shibby. my mistake. I was explaining more the sense of consciousness instead of the science behind it in this video. John simple mean ; everything is matter, but if you continue to break matter down, atoms to protons.electrons etc you eventually realize everything exist in waves. unified wave field creating all of matter (reality)

  • There is no wakefulness, there is no sleep,

    There is only being.

There is no limit, there is no chance,

    There is only a plan.

  • @artnaim Spare us the platitudes, please -

  • There is no beginning, there is no end, There is only change. There is no teacher, there is no student, There is only remembering. There is no good, there is no evil, There is only expression. There is no union, there is no sharing, There is only one. There is no joy, there is no sadness, There is only love. There is no greater, there is no lesser, There is only balance. There is no stasis, there is no entropy, There is only motion.
  • it is a leap to go from the oneness of our createdness to the statement that all are one in consciousness in a "single field of intelligence". to go from calling the "non-material" " consciousness" is again a leap -- how is the "unified field" "self aware" ? this is just Eastern Mysticism dressed up as science.

  • @convanjo You think it's beautiful?? lol...to each their own. I find his voice incredibly annoying. He sounds like a robot on prozac.
