  • I'm Irish :')

  • i felt bad for her, her sash kept falling! lol

  • sorry but her overs stank. and she is a wackadoo.

  • @JiggyPiggy100 Its just for fun and I've done that little hop hop over-2-3 step, its not the easiest to get your lift up with no momentum. I've seen her dance her soft shoe in a POC and she was wonderful. She's not a wackadoo, she's having some fun.

  • WOW they were really good

  • @Aydensgrace

    that's hilarious.

    do you like harry potter?

i do, i've the series six or seven times over.

  • i haven't done hard shoe for that long so i have one quick question:

how can she jump sooooo high and still hit all of her tips and batters in time with the music?

  • i haven't done hard shoe for that long so i have one quick question:

how can she jump sooooo high and still hit all of her tips and batters in time with the music?

  • @pinklollipops56 She went to Hogwarts. =]

it's just a perfectly timed jump and physics.

  • they should really pin those sashes to them: watch this video to see why

2010 ECR Parade of Champions (Saturday)

  • you can tell how excited she is

  • Beautiful, very beautiful.

  • first: her hair is distracting me

second: how comes the guy doesnt have a ravel in his legs?

  • Is that possible? :D

  • they're awesome!

  • i just want to learn about it, unfortunately there 's not easy to find the people can teach in Hong Kong

  • I made it baby Yah !!!

  • Could somebody explain to me how people from Riverdance/LOTD - i.e. Scott Doherty - are allowed to compete in the Worlds??

  • @Wafaloo CLRG's rules do not forbid employed dancers from competing, they only forbid those who are TCRG/ADCRG from competing. As long as Riverdancers/LOTD dancers can find the time to practice their competition steps and stay registered under their TC then they are allowed to compete.

  • @Ceiligirl Hm. Interesting. I remember seeing something in the North American feis rules (and I assumed it would apply to the Worlds as well), which state that "teachers and other professionals are not allowed to compete," and if you are paid to dance that technically makes you a professional... which is why I was really surprised to see this.

  • My grandma used to irish dance.. I miss her

  • No such thing as too cheesy in a dance competition. Fast. Hard. Power. This is how we dance. :)

  • that girl is 2 cheesey, the fella is brilliant tho and true professional dancers never worry about anything falling off they concentrate on dancing and performin and her dress isnt an irish dancing dress ugh

  • get rid of the wigs..please

  • great thing called a safety pin?

  • wow taht girl is like ap uppet.. how she bobs :)

  • so very amazing

  • Just WOW!!!!!

  • Seriously scares me, their feet move soooooooooo fast

  • is she michael smith's daughter? she's such a good dancer. i have workshops with michael smith and he told us that he has a daughter that went to worlds and won it

  • @bubblesfoster Yes, that is Michael Smith's daughter. So talented!

  • @bubblesfoster ....three times haha

  • So is this like offered as a class at the schools in Ireland or like how does it work? Just a tad bit confused here.

  • @muffinstalkers No it isn't offered as a class during school hours its a extra carricular activity like football or dancing that you take outside/ after school. However most schools in ireland do make the students learn a dance or two it is usually for seachtain na Gaeilge (Irish week) which happens once a year but its only for a bit of fun. Its basically just like any other sport where you go join a club after school and isn't mandatory.

  • @GIRLxxOFxxMUSIC Oooh, ok. Thanks :)

  • In the US, sports are actually offered in high school, on campus. We don't have sports clubs the way you do over there. Here, each high school has teams that compete against each other. American football is the most popular of course, but baseball, softball, water polo, tennis, golf and other sports are offered too. But I think American schools spend too much money on sports. There are often too many students per classroom and teachers are underpaid. I wish we had clubs instead of school teams.

  • @aliceryan7 Yes In Ireland they are offered after school as a school team. They do have some school teams such as football(soccer) Gaelic Football ect however Irish dancing is just a club and not a team because it is dancing and isn't done in teams.

  • Amazing! I love watching Irish dance. I wear about half the time the guy was dancing his feet were above the floor. Way to get air, man!

  • amazing girl !!!!!

  • NOW SHE WHIPS HER HAIR

  • Fantastic, I'm 63 and just found out about Irish dancing. It's amazing how their feet don't fly off into the audience. I hope I get to see it live sometime. Imagine the time & effort that's gone into it. Brill. I'm not Irish but love the Irish culture and have just taken up the bodhran..

  • Does somebodykjnow the title of the song? wonderful!

    thankyou! =)

  • @SJDBC the song is chu chullain's despair by beoga :)

  • little elves ^_^

  • Hey i was there! I didnt see them dance though :(

  • he kicked her at 1:01

  • well done scotty. looking forward to tour. see you on the road!

  • I do irish dancing, but i don't compete, mainly because i don't have the money for the feis dress (which can be £1000!) or the physical health for the epic training, iv got asthma but the 9 years i have been doin it has help me get over it a lot ^^

  • I love Ashley smith!!!!!

  • @TheFattie92 My apologies. I don't know who posted this, but it was not an official post from the CalicoCloggers. I have changed the password so it won't happen again. Kathy Moore, Calico Cloggers

  • omg that was a mazing!!!

    Woooooo!!!!

  • her hair is going everywhere

  • @JasonlVlraz thats the point lol

  • @JasonlVlraz It's probably a wig...They seem really 'in' in the big competition orientated dance clubs/organisations/schools etc.

  • @JasonlVlraz It's supposed to! All competitive dancers wear big curly wigs.

  • @Mcbs513 I think wigs are kinda stupid i you ask me... I already have stupid big curly hair and i hate it. The girls should just be natural and beautiful the way they are

  • @JasonlVlraz It's how it always is. *from Ireland, so I'm very aware* It's how it's traditionally supposed to be here for Irish dancing for ladies.

  • @JasonlVlraz

It's a Wig mate. haha but ya.

  • eso es salsa o cumbia? jajaja la verdad bailan muy bien

  • @hanserk1 Es un tipo de baile folcrorico de Irlanda

  • THE WORLD??.....

  • The dancing is brilliant, but what's up with that hair? Ditch the wig, girl!

  • @JustWannaRitAComment It's a requirement for the outfit as a whole

  • nice, but they move their bodies too much

  • @Andromed098 They just won. Can you imagine how excited they must feel? Perfect form is shot to hell when you're that excited

  • great

  • woooooooooopy this is better than the freakin' moon walk!!!love the irish, from india)))

  • which type of hard shoe is the girl wearing?? xxx

  • wuts the music????

  • @Irish858Dancer i want her insane dancing skillz!!!!

  • That was wonderful, I so wish I'd been able to learn when I was younger :(

  • Bless her heart, that sash just wouldn't stay. They danced wonderfully!!

  • Does anyone know what's the music?

  • @Katkaliina94 beoga reel x

  • haha her sash fell

  • one thing i never understood were the wigs... why, for the love of god, would you feck what resembles a plate of rotini pasta on top of your head and dance

  • @shazzaova9thousand Are you a dancer or just someone who watches? because really anyone who isnt the dance world of irish dancing wouldnt really understand, curly hair is tradition, and this is a contemporary twist.

  • @Flabby2Fabby Well, I don't know about the previous commenter but I personally AM an Irish dancer and I don't like the wigs either -- what's wrong with our natural hair?

  • @4096quagmire Sneaky Steppers Agree ;-)

  • @Flabby2Fabby I don't really mind either way, i am so used to them by now, people should just focus on our grace, and power, not how we look :/

  • @shazzaova9thousand

    haha! Hear hear :-)

  • just think it's silly to criticize the wigs, you shouldn't even be looking at what she is wearing, or her hair for that matter, it's what she does with her feet that counts, and anyway wearing a wig saves the time and discomfort of having to spend forever having hair curled and styled, just put it on, clip it loads, and you're ready to rock...literally hehehehehe

  • @rocknreelchic: If, as you say "you shouldn't even be looking at what she is wearing, or her hair for that matter" why, pray tell, do they wear those stupid wigs?

  • How in under jaysus can anyone concentrate on the dancin and not be distracted by what im gurssing is a nylon wig. At least she isnt covered in fake i suppose. No doubting they're great dancers but cant someone make the madness stop?

  • Comment removed

  • i love how energetic the girl is she is just such a gracefull dancer with just the right amount of power! :D and the guy is just great! wish i was there in person to watch you both!!!! :P

  • @xCestTresChiquex

    its the hair

    its really bouncey

  • @xCestTresChiquex i KNOW she just swung that leg righ tup there I was like wow. lol

  • @xCestTresChiquex lolooooooooooooooooooooooooooooool, wie cool

  • What is the name of that song playing in the background? The melody is so amazing. I can just dance to that song all day.

  • When is Irish Dancing going to loose those ridiculous wigs? The dancers have the most beautiful legs and feet, and are totally overwhelmed by the wigs and gawdy dresses, the skill is in the dancing, not the american tan and spangles.

  • @H1ldaMat1lda i agree. why cant we just have nice natural hair and a skirt and blouse?

  • @H1ldaMat1lda Thank you! Somebody agrees with me! Personally, I dance in a black skirt and leotard with a red, celtic-knotwork-embroidered belt that I made and my mum decorated. My hair, I put it in two plaits joined in a ponytail with a red ribbon around it. My mum might make me a dress in the future, but it certainly won't be 'gaudy'!

  • you can never jump to high!, then again.. when you hit the roof..

  • they both are really just amazing! i'm soo jealous of ashley's toe walks!!!!!

  • her hair goes boingy boingy boingy boing

  • @X0XKAWAiiPANDAX0X Um no one can jump too high in irish dancing, the only time that is wrong is if you can't land on time!

  • OMG Ashley rules :D is mignific

  • ashley smiths toe walks are amazing and scott doherty is an excellent dancer too !!!! keep it up guys !!!!

  • Ashley SMith is Amazing her dad judged me the other day!

  • WARNING IRELAND: FOREIGN NURSES BRINGING IN TB DISEASE

The Irish Medical Journal found that some foreign nurses recruited for Irish hospitals had latent Tuberculosis(TB). A study has found that some X-rays carried out as part of TB screening in their HOME countries were inaccurately reported.

The nurses studied, whose chest X-rays were done abroad were reported as normal, they were later diagnosed with latent TB.

    Irish Independent 26/5/10

Ireland fought for decades to get rid of this disease

  • @irishdancer7513 Yeah, well I can say now that she didn't make it onto the top 10...or it's actually 11. Lol.

But she did amazing, there were so many talented dancers this year.

  • @irishdancer7513 What? Do you mean I'm telling the truth or you want the truth? Haha. Because I am telling the truth. = )

  • @HelloYeepGoodbyeWoop lol. truth means yeah ur telling the truth like thats true.

  • @irishdancer7513 Haha, kay. Wow dumb moment right there that I had. =/

  • @WHOletTHISdie its called turn out. the heels are suposed to face forward not the toes:)

  • @skittlesx753 i'm retarded because everyone curled their hair for feises ?(plural of that word?)

  • WOW, i want to be like that!!

  • in all my years as an irish dancer, i only saw one person with straight hair compete in a feis. it's just expected that you'll have curly hair, my dance teacher told us that we had to curl our hair when i was younger, and it's so much easier to have a wig.

    amazing dancers :)

  • oh god....memories of primary school flooding back!

  • i used to do Irish dancing but then i had to quit coz i broke my right ankle and whenever i got a new wig i used to wash it (dont hate me) not in the washin machine but like in the sink just with water it stopped it goin all life of its own like this one lol gosh if u guys think this is good u should come to one of our real Irish Céilis
