I think that the girl and Miku were friends and Miku passed down some rumor between her and a teacher It spreads out and becomes like a telephone game, in the end, it becomes overly exaggerated and not even close to the truth but is more juicier. She thinks saying nice things are not as fun to talk about as much as rumors. She answer what the people may like whenever it's real or not and passes them down. Eventually the other girl passes a rumor about Miku which ruins her reputation
The aluminium would wrap the chocolate, causing the ' chocolate ' be unable to be known. Once the aluminium has been unfolded, the ' chocolate ' would be free to spread itself around humans.
Then, Miku would be ' selling ' anything that the majority wants, I think shes selling rumours. Interpreting PPPP and the ending was sort of hard. Thts pretty much it.
And then Miku moves on to telling a secret about a popular superstar and a handsome scholar. I'm not really sure about this secret, I had thought about yaoi between them, or its about their real selves. For Miku's and masked men's secret, its pretty obvious. They had already said it.
Once the aluminium wrapper is open, everyone crowds around it. Seen any chocolate bars wrapped in aluminium? The chocolate ( again ) represents rumours.
Once they received rumours that are never going to be digested, they would eventually pass it to others like an inevitable disease, thus the ' saliva '.
Miku would ' eat chocolate ', which is actually rumours/gossip. Even if its real, or fake, shes going to ' eat ' it, as every piece of chocolate she eats have additives. But still, she thinks flimsy rumours ( aka fake chocolate ) is worser than juicy rumours ( aka real chocolate ).
Miku, a person who loves rumours/gossip, has learnt of a recent and notsopopular gossip that was supposed to be a secret between the teacher and student, who did an immoral and unforgivable act. This gossip eventually becomes popular, thanks to the help of Miku, and the gossip dances stark-naked.
The masked men sitting down for dinner, are actually ' eating rumours '.
i think this pv is about a student and a teacher, the student confessed to the teacher that she likes him and they had sex or something.but then miku saw them and spreaded the gossip which makes sense xD
@AndromecheAmazon They're the reaction guys. If you don't know about them, you can google it, and in the picture they have the exact same poses as those silhouettes.
the whole point of this song is telling you that even though someone may tell you something that you like to hear, no matter how addictive it is, or how amazing it sounds it is bad for you and will rot you from the inside, just like chocolate as it is full of crap that will rot your teeth if you don't take care when eating it.
Basically Chocolate is a metaphor for drama and gossip
meaning : People don't care if the rumors that get spread are true or not they think it's "tasty" even though it bad for the people involved in the rumor and the same with chocolate people eat chocolate knowing it's bad for them. Both can end very badly, a rumor can cause someone to commit suicide ,and chocolate can cause diabetes or a heart attack from being addicted to spreading gossip or eating chocolate.
@MossehTheEevee14 I'm assuming them as the student and teacher? That'd work if it were the case but... *looks at the end of the song* it'd still end badly. =v=;
@xXSouthParkFujoshiXx XD Yeah, it would... But I can see Romano spreading the lies, as well as sticking up for his brother when he is lied to. Also, the student and teacher thing makes a ton of sense... Romano mentoring him, only to spread the lies he held -If he had any to begin with- during his childhood spent with Austria, Hungary, and Holy Roman Empire.
;7; It does make sense!
Thanks, I'm making a small AMV of them (Nekotalia XD) on Flipnote Hatena! Do you want to see it when finished?
I can't help but think the teacher and student are Kiyoteru and Yuki. o3o
Also, I think the story of this song is sad for such an upbeat, fastpaced song. ;3; So basically, Miku catches a student and teacher doing "something immoral", and runs off to tell everyone. The addiction to "feasting" of chocolate is the fun people get from seeing the student so shamed, and in the end, she's seen hanging herself. Frighteningly poignant, considering the rise of bullying-caused suicides in our society. ono
This isn't the first Upbeat but sad song. Two Men Of The Hanging Tree, and Crime And Punishment are both about suicide but Miku sounds sooooo cute singing them.
@Cursedkat I love Crime and Punishment, and I've yet to listen to Two Men of the Hanging Tree, but I will ;D And I think those songs are my favorite, the happy-sounding ones with sad meanings underneath.

I love this song for so many reasons. The way Miku is used in it, the music and beat, and of course the meaning. Truthfully, I'm someone who likes hearing about people's personal lives, even if it is through hearsay and rumours, but I know that gossip is a terrible thing that can easily ruin a life. There is so much truth contained in the 3 minutes of this song that it isn't even funny.
now that i found this song i listen to this EVERY DAY :DDDDD, i love to listen to fast pace songs like this>:D it is also like a good message on how gossip is bad for u :3
"A professer and student A from next door were you see doing something they shouldn't...?" What were they doing exactly? And the professer reminds me of stein in soul eater...
Simple explanation. Chocolate is addicting. Spreading rumors have the same affect. "How simple minded." Means people need to speak their minds rather than listen to others. "Black rain" While it seems harmless, you actually hurt the person it's about.
Don't spread gossip or rumors, that are true, or not.
@AnimeKid121212 In the real world, probably some cheap shitty stuff made from a bunch of chemicals. In the context of the song, rumours that people create about someone just for the sake of creating some gossip. It's not even true, but no-one cares because it's still something to spread to everyone.
@Zolok1 Cause the song's about rumors imma say "the truth" cause when you can see it you'll only look at the rumor or lie. However, when you want to see the truth it'll already lost in the lies. I'm pretty sure that's wrong but its a solution so at least. :)
Gossiping is chocolate. The rapper of the chocolate seals the secret, people wanting to open it wantingly without knowing what is good for them. A drug that is addicting. Also a virus that speads to others until everyone is effected in many different ways.
Aside from the brilliant tune, the lyrics are so poetic. Indulging yourself in dirty rumours like greasy, heart-stopping chocolate. Like you know it's bad but it makes you feel so good. I've gotta keep tabs on Pinocchio-P.
Then it says "Flimsy sweet talks are too fake; juicy rumors are more real to me." That means that she prefers juicy rumors over the truth, to the point where she just consider's rumor's "real", or the truth. Then it says "You think so, too? Of course I also think so. How simple minded, huh?" That means that everyone else thinks the same of juicy rumors. It's "simple minded" because it seems more like people are just following the crowd instead of creating their own opinions about the gossip.
Then it talks about people "hogging gluttonously in the most unsightly manner" and how they "become bound by some rotten scoundrels." That means people become consumed by the news, and always want to know more about the situation, so they become bound to "rotten scoundrels", or the people who tell the gossip. Then it says "I'll lick some sweet sweet chocolate, some real, some fake." That means that she'll listen and believe the gossip, (or "chocolate") whether it's truth or lies, (real or fake.)
Then she says "as the telephone game is played generation after generation, the message is passed here, there, and everywhere and now it goes something like this: 'Yaa Lalipappala.'" That means that it spun so out of control that no one know's what the gossip was originally about, and it's gotten way worse. So it went from something about a student and a teacher, to "Yaa lalipappala" which basically represents outrageous nonsense.
This song is definitely about gossip. At the beginning, when she says "What I'm about to say here will stay here" is basically like her telling someone something and then saying "don't tell anyone else." Then she goes on to talk about the student and the teacher. Then she says "It was supposed to be a ridiculous secret chained down deep underground, but now it's dancing stark naked in front of the Shibuya station." That means that the gossip spun out of control and now everyone know's about it.
this song is about, what i think, spreading rumors... rotten and new... rotten hersheys and chocolate... everybody wants to get in on it, thats my veiw of it,
It's probably just about gossip. At first, Miku's gossiping with others and exchanging it, whether it's "some real, some fake"? And "juicy rumors are more real to me" also supports that. (lol) But in the end, when she's all, "I don't like this," it's probably when someone started a rumor about her. So the rotten chocolate is the gossip here.. if you get my explanation xD
Somehow it seems like Miku is a reporter in this one. I makes sense since she "Sells what the public wants" and at the very end she "somehow doesn't like this." Showing that she might just not like her job? In all the cases she sang about seemed like she was spreading the rumors around and exaggerating them, which reporters tend to do. Her attire also seems fitting.
I think when it says ''When the aluminum wrapper i unfolded everybody will be there'' means when a rumor starts everybody will be telling all their friends. And when it says ''Behind the scenes someone wil surely will be pouring black rain'' means when someone spills a rumor about someone else they will all be pouring ''black rain'' (a.k.a the rumor) on them. To make the person feel bad. Thats how I see it.
ok basically this song is about well i think this is it miku sees like a girl like shes responsible like a straight A+ student but miku saw like girls making fun of her and she was an outcast so she thought of fitting in as spreading rumors of her but somwhere in the middle she doesn't know if she feels right about this but she picks to go along with it and when she curses probably shes pissed or something but in the end she feels bad and the girl who was made fun of killed herself
@FroggyJam3000 oh and just to clarify its basically showing the viewers what happens when you try to fit in the wrong part of the school the popular group because they mostly hurt people and they kill themselves
@FroggyJam3000 I think your on the right track. From the video, you see Miku enjoying the chocolate and sweets, and you see another girl in the video as well. The rumors and gossip are all about her, and Miku is enjoying them very much. Later on, she becomes a rude, awful person, (1:42) and she spreads them more and more. Then, Miku hears that the rumors are also about her, realizing the rumors are no juicy expirence.
She get's a fact, (A student meets up with a teacher,) digests it and adds little twists, and feeds it ("chocolate" heheh...) to everyone to get passed on the same way, ultimately leading up to "A STUDENT SLEPT WITH THE TEACER AHHHH!!!" , and in turn, making the student kill herself, making Miku regret it.
the lyrics are all so true...

Frighteningly poignant, considering the rise of bullying-caused suicides in our society. ono

Haloprincess117 6 months ago 4

Then she says "It was supposed to be a ridiculous secret chained down deep underground, but now it's dancing stark naked in front of the Shibuya station." That means that the gossip spun out of control and now everyone know's about it.

this song is about, what i think, spreading rumors... rotten and new... rotten hersheys and chocolate... everybody wants to get in on it, thats my veiw of it,
cheesedorf 7 months ago 7

FroggyJam3000 8 months ago
@FroggyJam3000 oh and just to clarify its basically showing the viewers what happens when you try to fit in the wrong part of the school the popular group because they mostly hurt people and they kill themselves
FroggyJam3000 8 months ago
@FroggyJam3000 I think your on the right track. From the video, you see Miku enjoying the chocolate and sweets, and you see another girl in the video as well. The rumors and gossip are all about her, and Miku is enjoying them very much. Later on, she becomes a rude, awful person, (1:42) and she spreads them more and more. Then, Miku hears that the rumors are also about her, realizing the rumors are no juicy expirence.

SOOO...
She get's a fact, (A student meets up with a teacher,) digests it and adds little twists, and feeds it ("chocolate" heheh...) to everyone to get passed on the same way, ultimately leading up to "A STUDENT SLEPT WITH THE TEACER AHHHH!!!" , and in turn, making the student kill herself, making Miku regret it.
hahahaha~ she fed people poo rumors :3
