The territories of Sabah (North Borneo) and all of South East Asia were conquered , occupied and administered by the Imperial Japanese Military Government during the 2nd World War 1939-1945.

The Allied Forces in 1945 liberated the occupied territories and colonized Sabah & Sarawak , then in 1963 formed Malaysia (combining Malaya+Sabah+Sarawak - Brunei & Singapore).

On what basis (if any) does the "claim" on the territory of Sabah (North Borneo) by the so call 'Sultan of Sulu" stands????

'Sultan of Sulu' resigns as Umno member

KOTA KINABALU: Businessman Datuk Mohd Akjan Ali Muhammad, who claimed to be Sultan of Sulu, yesterday resigned as a member of Umno. He said this in response to the decision by the Sabah Umno Liaison Committee to propose to the party headquarters to sack Akjan last week for claiming to be the Sultan of Sulu.
