So basically you just use clay, foam, and paper mache to mold the gun how it should look, glue the designs on their and paint it?

Omigosh, thank you SO much for this! My friend is cosplaying as Train and we needed to figure out something for Hades. This video really helps!

interesting, I'll have to go to the dollar store and see if it does resemble the shape of Hades. I've got another question, sorry for bothering you. How long did making Hades take you?

to build...a day or two, to paint, another few days ...3 or 4 (cuz it takes a while for the gold detailing to dry and I kept messing up). Bout a week. Took me a while to compile materials though.

sure, as long as the shape can be changed to look like the gun. I got this gun (in the vid) because its the closest thing to Hades I can get my hands on

YAY! thanks for the help! i plan on entering a contest as Train, but i needed to make his gun! Black Cat is awesome! i love it soooo much i actually got the "13" romal numeral tattooed on my chest like Train (NO LIE!) so thanks for the tips!

A fly is going to fly into my mouth at any moment because I'm still gaping from you're comment....you got the actual tatto?!? I'm jealous, amazed, and nervous. I would be to worried that getting a tatto would jepordize my other cosplays! lolz...I guess you just have ot make sure that your cosplays cover the tattoo...but now that I think about it, I wouldn't pick a costume that would show that much skin so.....*pondering*

yes you paper mache over the foam..I might seal the foam first though.

I encourage you to make it yourself, really, if use foam on the barrel insted of clay and seal it with something better than modge pog and paper mache (not very water proof for a squirt gun), it will probably turn out better that mine...I had to repair part of my gun (I have pictures of the reckage)because my classmates stuck it in the freezer and it has a crack down the cylinder making it no longer usable as a squirt gun...

so again, you wouldn't want to buy it from me.

Depends where you live...In Seattle Washington (yay Sakuracon!) there are two big costume stores that have fake guns; Display and costume store (Northgate and Roosevelt)and Champions which is down town...

so pretty much a local costume store. Its harder, but possible, to find one in a drug store, or more easily and probably cheaper; a toy store
