ulitmate Marvel has this obession with killing off alot of famous heroes including the first Black Widow in Ulitmates 2(by making her a bady guy)then getting an arrow though the head in a hosptial by a vengance filled Hawkeye

Her asian replacement(ex wife to Nick Fury)is okey but man the stuff Marvel does to its characters in parellel universe settings is depressing and qutie brutal sometimes and Ultimatum is big statement of destorying such a setting and i still haven't any idea why?

I really hope that the Ultimate Marvel Universe doesn't die because of this horrendous piece of horse manure. I hate how so many artists and writers think that shock value equals story depth! Ultimatum killed off so many interesting characters that everyone knows and loves, just for shock value. It's sickening I tell you!

I think that Marvel should just call Ultimatum the Ultimate version of the What-If Universe and save themselves. Make up a different storyline that's worth a buck!

Well that's an impressive diatribe. It turns out that spidey lives, and while it sucks that most of the X-men and ultimates died, I do think that it's better that they don't miraculously survive, Heroes shouldn't just be allowed to survive a catastrophe just because they're heroes. Now that they've done this there's going to be a lot of fallout, which will be interesting to watch, particularly as we don't know how the survivor will cope.

But with generally poor characterization and dialogue, the execution lived up to none of it.

On the other hand, the Ultimate Spider-Man tie-in handled it very well.

I only buy it cuz of Dave Finch's wonderful art. Its so bad i dont have enough space to describe it. You know What I think they should do(now This probably won't happen because Marvel basically has the last issue of Ultimatum finished by now), but It would be really cool if in the last Issue Spidey returns from a spirit Dimension that reveals he was lost in, and returns with many fan favorites like Daredevil and Thor (so fans wont stay Peved that their favorite heroes are gone). Plus, when Peter returns, he comes back in this special spiritual Armor, Making the Dabut of Ultimate IRON SPIDER
