They ran with these stories for days without checking or sourcing facts. As it turned out, they were mainly fabricated but the damage had already been done. Consistent polling has shown that the ideological make up of the country is plurality conservative, about 30% moderate, and 15-20% liberal. I also disagree with you that the US is in terrible shape, it is at a low point in its history, but it is going through a reform process and a maturing process.

@Matthew1944 My political views are not shaped in large part by my religion and there are people on both the left and the right that are intolerant of Mormons. I also can say that in recent history conservative Christians have not defaced church property, protested temples, or harass Mormon owned businesses or employees. There is a lot more hate against the LDS church from left-wingers than conservative Christians. I also am more accurately described as a moderate conservative.

In Canada, the hard right wanted a dancing elephant statue taken out of the zoo because they thought it represented a Hindu God . His being a Muslim has been discussed, but no one on the channel has suggested that he is. No one really knows his true faith.

I am not sure what everyone is so angry about. I mean if you do not want to watch it don't. I for one, am excited to have a potential different spin on media. I think I am intelligent enough to take some and leave some. I mean can anyone say they believe everything the CBC says... that would just be ignorant and the thought makes me sad. You find something out from the news then it is your responsibility to research and find other information and make your OWN opinion on the matter.

This is Canada, our news networks are government funded so that private political bias can't be turned into a massive propaganda campaign and disguised as "fair, honest reporting" like Rupert Murdoch is running in the US with fox news. I'm proud of the CBC for maintaining neutrality. The sensationalist style of Fox News and even CNN may be more entertaining, but distort the truth in favour of ratings, and feed conservatives with exactly the kind of biased views they want to hear. Fox News is the most watched television news station in the United States, and the most trusted according to Public Policy Poling firm, a Democrat outfit. Consistent polling has shown that the ideological make up of the country is plurality conservative, about 30% moderate, and 15-20% liberal. I also disagree with you that the US is in terrible shape, it is at a low point in its history, but it is going through a reform process and a maturing process.
I am a Republican. I trust Fox's news wing to provide accurate information, and media analysis has backed their integrity.

I strongly value independence in the media and appreciate information from all sides, and from what I can tell, and from what I have read, Fox News offers that and does a very good job at delivering that. Fox News's supposed bias is not well documented, however liberal bias in worldwide media in the US particularly is well studied.

The names all came from one computer and Avaaz has the IP number. Will you hear that part on Faux - NOOOO. The truth is that the petition is to stop SUN from having a special status (Mandatory inclusion in all packages and to stop the PM from meddling with the CRTC). Not Fox's story.

@Matthew1944 My political views are not shaped in large part by my religion and there are people on both the left and the right that are intolerant of Mormons. I also can say that in recent history conservative Christians have not defaced church property, protested temples, or harass Mormon owned businesses or employees. There is a lot more hate against the LDS church from left-wingers than conservative Christians. I also am more accurately described as a moderate conservative.

In Canada, the hard right wanted a dancing elephant statue taken out of the zoo because they thought it represented a Hindu God . There was a deluge of ridicule for the protesters and support for the elephant that looked like Dumbo in drag. The young mormon missionaries used to drop in at our house for meals since they were two boys on their own.

Obama's birth certificate has not been discussed on Fox News in anyway other than affirming his proof of citizenship and legitimacy. CNN is the only American news station that has interviewed birthers, and only on Lou Dobbs program who subsequently left the channel. His being a Muslim has been discussed, but no one on the channel has suggested that he is. No one really knows his true faith.

Also, the photo is a picture of him in Kenya, a widely known photo, and there is nothing wrong with reporting on the Birthers, however Fox has chosen not to, except on the events surrounding them. They do not promote the birther movement.

The Tory government has pioneered a regulatory agenda that has been very healthy for Canada's economy, on the other hand the liberal Democratic government of the United States has pursued a corporate sponsored and influenced regulatory agenda that has caused uncertainty and stymied American economic growth. With regulation generally less and streamlined is more.

News should not be about left vs. right, it should just be about reporting reality. If you believe news has a left-wing bias, because it reports reality, then that's your problem.
With all the patriotic images, wrapping itself in the flag, showing iconic images of Canada, this news network is obviously right-wing, nationalist propaganda. Canadians should be proud of our country, but that should not be taken to a level where reporting reality is seen as unpatriotic.
