I did a complete non surgical facelift, with fillers, Thermage and botox at Precsion Aesthetics in NYC. The results were fabulous. The Doctor was very honest she even suggested I might want surgery if I wanted more dramatic results. But I got exactly what I wanted. A drmatic improvement without surgery. Would definitely recommend.
Part 2). The plastic surgeon will say anything to downplay the merits of any new thing that rivals his hard earned credentials. Envy, rivalry, jelousy, survival, killer stincts and all kind of other basic human instincts and emotions emerge under these circunstances.
Remedy: Go ahead and do it; make sure that you get your unbiassed "before and after pictures" and get a good lawyer, in case something goes wrong.
Part 1). Plastic surgeons feel heavely threaten, by the new technologies, which any dermatologist or beauty shop operator can use with excellent results. The plastic surgeon has to go through many years of studies to aquire a trade, just to to see a bunch "Of oportunistic-new technology-blessed neophytes" take over his field.
Thermage destroys your facial fat, which in turn makes you look older...you know, that gaunt, sunken cheek look? Our facial fat decreases as we age...why speed it up for the sake of tightening your skin just a bit for a few years? No thanks!
shame on those ppl on tv that we watch and tend to trust We are controled and full by those creature called reporters just because they benefit free treatements What a shame This is just a BS
i really wish ppl would realize that alot of those outstanding results we see in brochures are also from patients who have recieved multiple treatments. my aunt had thermage with very subtle results. it wasnt until she started using retin-a and microcurrent facials that the results were dramatic. thermage is okay but not great. too expensive for minimal results.celebrities get up to 4 thermage treatments a year where as the average woman recieves one.lol
yes, it's microwaves. seems that's not too great of an idea. i think the plumpness you see at first is from inflamation (swelling) of the deep tissues. i don't think it's used at dematology clinics associated with hospitals that also have a medical school. i'd stay away from this.
they are using radio waves, have you ever microwaved meat? it sizzles and pops, and no person could tolerate that pain or disfiguement . Can you explain a little better?
maybe point to a source of info, i am really curious about this, not doubting you just mystified by what i see and what i am reading here. thnx
I had heard so much about Thermage ,I had wanted to have this procedure done so I had gone for a consult. This particular plastic surgeon said he'd never
do anything so unsafe--
The analogy he made was to a potato baked in the microwave.
--it is all plumped up and taut in the begining, after sometime it collapses. After that I several other PS told me the same thing. Apparently several lawsuits have been filed because of facial scarring, and disfigurement.
WOW... yeah, and I think it is so unjust not to be able to get hold of the whole picture of everything, in other words of all the info. ... knowledge is true freedom
I have been having Thermage every year for the last 3 years. It definitely works. Just find a good doctor who knows what he or she is doing. Too many take shortcuts.
please tell me about the side effects... it messes up your natural collagen production or something like that?? ... I am looking forward to doing something in my face and have uploaded a video about it ... Thanks thanks, please do advice me, specially if its from experience you or people you know have had

this comment makes a lot of sense:
-----------
A plastic surgeon compared Thermage to
baking a potato in the microwave-- it looks plumped up but later on it will collapse.
According to him the skin also will collapse and get a hollowed look since you are cooking the skin.
-------------
(so, i take it's really inflamation that makes it look like the face is tightened.)

I did it 7 months ago and DO NOT see any difference and I had the maximum 900 zaps!

What would be the best todo then? Fat transfer to the cheeks to have a better triangular inverted shape? A actual mini-lift?

If you are on the lucky side then it doesnt work, if you are not on the lucky side, then you have very serious problems from thermage.
