@bradgenetta actually, your translation is completely inaccurate. to begin with, 還有多少里 means "how much longer is there to walk (how many miles are left). and 人也多 etc. actually means "so many people with so many opinions, i cannot distinguish who's right." and 怎樣 here means "however." 一邊。。。一邊 means to do something simultaneously, so it should be "chanting while one walks along." all of the above is very _basic_. so maybe work on your reading skills before claiming to post translations?

@shoutacre I realize it's not a perfect translation but no English translation was up and I wanted other English-speakers to be able to enjoy the meaning of the song instead of just the tune. Should I preserve the Chinese-English language barrier just because my Chinese isn't perfect? If your translation's better, post it.

Also, I know that I didn't translate some synonymous meanings of the Chinese because they would've ruined the meter of the song in English, which I wanted to preserve

Hey Yoespn~ If you are a Chinese, you would not say that. This song is a very classic one which can be considered to be in behalf of a Chinese era between 80s and 90s after the culture revolution when majority of people from mainland China start to know something about rock, about western culture(from my understanding, very naive).

The way we distinguish CuiJian's style from other so called "R n' R" band in China nowadays, is the CuiJian's sound which is unique, the average age of members in the band(CuiJian's band actually is bit older(quite like police)than most of other bands which are active now), and the spirit from the song which is also unique, and that spirit expressed a lot from that era.
