You have my deepest sympathies. My old PS2 also has problems reading double-layered games. Thus I spend like half an hour turning it on and off, reseting (just the two God of War games) until it gets its thumbs out of its ass and decides it wants to read the disc.

The reason you didn't switch the weapon was because you haven't pressed R2. In the menu you choose the secondary weapon (Barbarian Hammer, the Spear, etc.) and in the game you press R2 to switch to it.

I'm playing the game right now I had that glitch issue too. For that glitch once you reach the top of the stairs and you can't see Kratos anymore just pause the game and wait a few seconds then un-pause it.

The camera view should change and you can resume ripping people in half. Hope this helps!

i got da black screen 2 it was fucked up at 1st but i slowed it down an jumped across like u suppose 2 and it worked da darkness clears up 2(LOading) then continue..try it if it dont work then tough break...

we also tried jumping, but it does not work. Sometimes, the screen is lit and we can continue, but only if we don't save at the next point - saving also puts our PS2 into "freeze-mode"

you have to freeze time on that platform and then go to the next platform,then you'll meet Icarus i went pass this i have a friend who beat this game on titan mode no bull

Its ok, i have this classic game for PS2 and ended in spartan mode... titan i never tried
