I have been running my ebay tbe and catless up pipe for around 2 years now and have had absolutely no issues with it. I did a resonator delete and and put on a smaller muffler and it sounds perfect to me. The only brand name one i would want would be a invidia n1 race
the reliability you get with name brand is worth the higher price. i bet the ebay exhaust is just made from crap metal and will probably crack or rust in no time.
@PupleHaz420 honestly I agree with the concept behind what you're saying, but I've had the thing over 5 years now and zero rust and zero problems with leaks/sound.
I took it off last month as long trips got very annoying but up till then it was fine. I'm thinking it really depends on the off brand you go with.
@onconstant well assuming you run into no problems it sounds like a deal to me as well. i doubt unless your pushing high power there is a flow difference. so yeah definitely sounds like a good deal.
@PupleHaz420 yeah it definitely was not pushing high power other than tune and catback it was stock. I just wanted to hear the unequal headers. For someone that wants to feel/sound faster than they really are I highly recommend it haha.
@PupleHaz420 Most "eBay" exhausts are made from T407 or T305 stainless steel. It's shaped metal tubing so there's not much to screw up. When it comes to exhaust parts, the price should be for the materials and 1 or 2 hours of labor if that. Really, that shouldn't be very expensive. Name brand companies are the ripoffs, it costs them 50 bucks to make an exhaust then they sell them for 600 bucks. Most "eBay" vendors even offer 1 year warranties these days...
i agree, sounds great. i think im going to get one off ebay too, turbo back for $300 as opposed to like $1500 for name brand, it just isnt in my budget and i havent heard a bad wrx exhaust yet, its just a great sounding engine i think. and if worse comes to worse, just lop off the muffler tip and get a name brand one so it sounds and looks better!
Yeah you can see better performance from bigger brands but that is usually when you are pushing really big numbers and everything becomes a restriction. For example the bends in the piping can become a restriction but definitely not enough to worry about when you are under 300hp.
Sorry no other videos of it with a silencer. It is kinda loud outside with open throttle but inside its not bad at all. Doesn't overwhelm conversations or anything.
And it isn't a true turboback, but it's a crappy HKS downpipe and stock catback with the Ebay muffler on it.
how does it fit heard the hangeres arent correct and does it fit the stock dp?
