@hellokitty4me the monkeys when they grew showed somehow smilar symptoms to autism. when they were adults, they could not function properly, could not form relationship with rest of the group, showed aggresive behaviour, males could not mate, females if became mothers did not look after the babies.
This is so sad to watch but this research and was/is important to psychology and was one of the driving forces behind the way children are cared for today and I'm sure non-human animals as well. It's an UGLY truth but unethical and inhumane things did happen in order to give us the knowledge we currently have today. I still felt so bad for the monkey though, it's heat wrenching to see it so afraid and obviously psychologically damaged due to it's rearing in this experiment.
Could this possibly show that if a child was in the room with a comforting, kind teacher and a cold, uncaring mother that the child might choose the teacher over the mother? Hmm, that's something to think about.

They are just animals. Not important. They have no value outside of the information they provide from the experiment, unless they were eaten afterward then they had nutritional value. It is irrational to project human emotions on creatures that are nor human and cannot understand human interactions. Get over yourselves.
And your point is? We don't even know whether he loved the monkeys or not, but we can safely assume that he didn't from his treatment of system. That's not the point though... I am failing to grasp what exactly it is that you're trying to tell me that i don't clearly already know.
@o0rglez who cares about this?? He made huge advances in our understanding of mother-child relationships, and the importance of affection and interaction. It directly impacted everything from foster care sytems to societies general understanding of the a mother's role.
and this is more than sad. it's quite heartbreaking to be honest, his methods were extremely inhumane.

@lightningxlynn Possibly. Don't abused children at home seek affection from their teachers at school in forms of approval?

Very good video that shows how important the role of a mother for her child. This shows how the child recognizes the love and affection.

Muito bom este video, mostra como é importante o papel de uma mãe para com seu filho. Isto mostra como a criança reconhece o amor e o afeto.

I hope that some day you can discover that animals are our brothers and sisters, whom we should respect in all ways.

@RHIANNAKM He didn't love animals. All that he wanted - is results from experiments.
