  • I was 17 when this was shot, lived in Bentley Heath , but my father was the local milkman in Knowle. Sure that the shot of the young mechanic in Hollands Garage was John Alcock, my brothers best friend.

  • I was born (1942) in Temple Road and visited my Grandmother, and a Great Aunt who lived a few doors down the road, for many years. Unadopted road in those days. Finest Conker trees.

  • It looks mostly the same, but with cooler cars...

  • Great to see those beautiful old cars from my childhood. I moved to Solihull in 1982 and amazed at how many of the locations have changed much over the years..

  • Fantastic film and so interesting for me, who moved to Dorridge in 1986 from London, to see what Knowle and Dorridge was like in 1963. Very good quality of film. Thanks very much for sharing the film with everyone. Simon Bousfield

  • one of the chaps at hollands garage is my Grandad. We were shocked to see him on here. He is the one filling the car up with fuel see him again later too.

  • Absolutely amazing! It's fascinating to see how things were so many years ago! So many familiar places!

  • This is soo good. I lived in Poplar Road, Dorridge from 1970 for many years, such happy times, and really not a lot has changed, (except the pace of life and the cars!!). More please, from a ex pat now living in Italy.

  • What a fabulous film. Memories came flooding back. I was 10 years old at the time in 1963 and I'm sure I remember the chap shown working at Holland's Garage. I worked for Wrensons as a teenager delivering groceries on a bicycle Will watch this again and again. Wow, weren't them cars and steam trains absolutely beautiful. Please, please any more films from this era and nearby locations such as Solihull, Bentley Heath, Lapworth etc?

    Thank you so very much.
