  • makes it look like Cuba still stuck in the 60s xD

  • @MrSkooty5, yep it's a,Neon! It might have been shipped in from Canada or the USA via the Dominican Republic or Mexico.

  • I'm AMAZED how the old American cars thrive and some how survive in Cuba.. I understand the trade embargo between the United States and Cuba..BUT for the life of me...2:25 A Dodge Neon???? How did that car get in??

  • Cuba has 70,000 doctors in third world counties,

Israel was set up after the Second world war by the leaders of the west and America.

America still has a presence on Cuba at Guantanamo bay

  • Why dont US car manufactuerers throw out all the new car plans, dig out these old one and start making them agian?

  • @Eric9284911 that is the dumbest question i heard in a long, long time

  • @COSANOSTRA2OO8 It wasn't a serious question Rocket Surgeon

  • @Eric9284911 well why do you ask it then. your not making anyone laugh

  • @COSANOSTRA2OO8 Wasn't supposed to be funny either. I was admiring the designs of these classic cars.

  • @Eric9284911 well they can make the outside like they used to with modern technology...

  • @Eric9284911 What is a Rocket Surgeon?

  • is it posible to buy any of these cars and bring it back to the US?

  • A Willys? A '56 Plymouth? They have so many classics, and some are in cherry condition. They'd be rich if the U.S. would let American buyers into the country.

  • If there`s no way to get parts how did the 50s chevy at 1:27 get mid 1980s camaro wheels and low profile tires to fit um??Hand make them himself??.....NOT!

  • lead by Cuba is the same as being in a Bogart movie. The car is a Chevrolet 51,starting with a bel air in the mirror 56 and Roadmasters - Buick. But very few have original engines, diesel upgrade their russian. Thanks. saludos

  • Maybe I have my english broken according you ,but you have other broken thing. However the English its not my language,so. Don'T let to fall your frustrated and incompetent fillings over me,Idiot.

  • WTF... i thought they had some pretty strict embargo's happening over there, i saw a new Audi a few new Honda's, a BMW and a hyundai

  • those are governement vehicles and diplomats as well as journalist vehicles. cuba has some vehicle manufacturing as well as they do only recieve about $20 american per month, ahhh communism! who really benefits but the few at the top.

  • @Xeidasx -- WTF??? The blockade isn't a Cuban idea, its imposed primarily by the US to punish Cubans for not having 'correct' ideas. You don't think there's something absolutely demented in that? Cuba has excellant universal health-care, social-services, food-distribution, education and disaster-preparation that the richer nations, esp. the US can't match in many regards. Other nations aren't as fascist as the US and don't restrict trade or tourism.

  • @starmanskye : The American embargo against Cuba was ordered by the Federal Reserve banking system. This privately owned banking cartel wanted to control Cuba's monetary system, just like they do here. Castro won't allow them to take over Cuban banks, so they're being vindictive about it.

  • @starmanskye Cuba has absolutely awful public services you moron. The US ranks 13th in quality of life internationally while Cuba ranks 98th.

  • @starmanskye You couldn't be anymore wrong. The Cubans have a pitiful educational system, ZERO disaster preparedness, and their social services basically involve telling you to fend for yourself, like most other Communist countries(China being the exception). The United States is the 5th largest trade partner with Cuba. The blockade stems from the fact that Cuba took alot of property from the US citizens, and that little thing where they tried to kill us.

  • @orbitofdoom16 what about all the Medical aid 70,000 doctors in third world countries

or do you prefer a country that give 95% of its overseas aid to supporting a country that has no right to exist.

  • @tudgemyster Cuba does not have 70,000 Doctors. Which countries have no right to exist? Any people who band together and call themselves a country, on their own land, deserves to be called a country. Ignorance does not not defeat democracy. Eventually, the people will win, and they did.

  • @dirtTdude The Audis and BMW are German made, Honda in Japan and Hyundai in South Korea-those

countries do not have a trade embargo and with Cuba like the U.S..does. That's why only older-pre-1960 American cars can be seen in Cuba-since the U.S had a trade embargo with Cuba since then.

  • Damn, Audi @ 2:30

  • A Dodge Neon at 2:23?

  • wow

  • nice video nice cars i have a 1972 buick skylark w 100 spoke rims pt.2 that would be to new for cuba my dad said they only like the old 30's to 50's cars there they are the better cars more solid not to bad on fuel because of most of them have a straight 6 engine die hard engines GM made back then..............

  • They like the older cars because that's what they have. The stupid U.S. embargo has destroyed the cuban economy and made it nearly impossible to import newer cars.

  • i prefert a new cars anyway electric no need of gas :)

  • I don't understand, what has to do Venesuela with cuba this car its working, because the people in cuba, beside of its nesesary, they love this car and ,always they invent the way for no stop,if no the are gasoline and then, they use,gas fom the heater, but never stop, because they don't,want, before in 1990 ,no was venesuela and this car never stop, because, the cuban people,is so amart people ok.

  • your not so smart either with your broken english are you?

  • wooww a fairlane hard top convertible its worth 50 grand damn it

  • what a F@#&! How these guys keep these old metal so shining? Not exactly shining but running and looking good enough to utilize.

  • because most cubans have become mechanics to keep these old heaps moving

  • I understand toe keep these cars running they fabricate the parts and use russian engines.

  • This is how I view Cuba: great to vacation there, sucks to LIVE there

  • man,i wish we still had classic cars on the streets in the us like in cuba.

  • this is simply amazing. .how impressive that the cars are so taken care of and maintained and yet still used.. amazing in deed.!!!

  • 0:11 - maluch?

  • Amazing!!!! My favorite you tube video yet!!! Its great to see all of these old classics being used for everyday means of transportation. The people of Cuba are extremely resourceful to make these cars run for over 50 years. yes we have these cars inthe USA but they are not used everyday like here. Thanks a million for posting this!!!!

  • Love the '57 Skyliner, Rare car! (starting 2:21) it has an almost '58 Ford hood scoop...very odd!

The neat thing is you can still get parts for those cars down there pretty easy, unlike here.

  • The song sucks

  • A lot of interesting old cars there!

  • sweet at 3:18 theres a 1960 impala!!!

i knew there had to be some 1960 cars down there other people are like there isn't and i'm like yes there is!!! and this proves it!!!!!!!

  • Beautiful!

  • Just so people know, if it was not for the Venezuelan government of Hugo Chavez, these old cars would not be on the road. He has traded cheap oil in exchange for cuban doctors and food. A deal that benefits both countries, no matter what anyone says. So you Americans should thank Hugo Chavez.

  • I have no trouble with Chavez.. I only wish that he was a bit less populistic... More something of a diplomat, you know. :)

  • agreed, but if he was

    more diplomatic, he

    wouldn't

    be so popular of course.

  • Are you convinced of the idea that somebody with more diplomacy can't be popular?

I think it has more to do with charism.. :)

  • okay, I give up...i'll agree with you. Thanks for your insight.

  • Diplomatic meaning civilized... as George Bush, I guess.

  • US Built Cars, particularly after WW 2 were of high quality; and of course the cleverness of the Cubans to ekeep them running.

I love that '56 Plymouth in Pink!

  • That's very true. Though now we have improved our engines to be more efficent, the bodies are like tin foil and wouldn't outlast these great cars.

  • Thanks for responding-

I would love to go to Cuba; but I live in south Florida, and it is too painful for my neighbors and good friends for me to go there and support a regime that has imprisoned a happy, decent loving and kind people, and turned them into neurotics-

It is a crime to which the entire world's bent on Liberalism has contributed to, and Shame on Them--They ruined a nice country and people who deserve better-

Oh, PS: There's nothing "Liberal" about Fidel's Paradise

  • To poitrenaud, i see you've bought the propaganda america tells you about cuba...if fidel is so awful why does cuba offer 100% free heathcare to its people? America certainly doesnt. If america had its way it would devolpe all those beautiful beaches with ugly resort hotels and replace all the nice old cars with brand new ford focus's and chevy cobalts! Those toursts dollars you would spend would go to paying for someones heathcare so check yourself

  • I bought into nothing. And USA does not propagandize anything against Cuba; in fact, most Americans feel that Cuba has a better (offered) health care system, and that the trade restriction on Cuba is anachronic and should be put to sleep.

As far as what is NOT working well in Cuba, is the fault of their economic system, not theri education system.

At the present time, USA has enough of it's own problems.

BTW, have YOU bought into any propaganda?
