Legalize drugs huh? HA! Yeah right! Dream on! Would the Government ever allow that? Fuck no!! Are you kidding me? They would never pass up the chance to get all the money they get from keeping drugs IL-legal!
It's win-win for government with drugs either way. If drugs are illegal, the huge black market money eventually finds its' way into the economy, and the law enforcement funding and imprisonment costs can be rationalized. If drugs were legalized and taxed, the revenues would allow the government owned media to portray drug use as a "lifestyle" (like they did with alcohol)...more usage, more taxes.....that's my only problem with legalization..it only empowers government more.
the only problem i see is his extreme dislike for all 'drugs' while having no first-hand experience besides ten joints. we then realize he chain smokes, drinks caffeine, cognac, and wine. a small amount of either hypocrisy, self-denial or a strangely status quo way of looking at it.
We hear "legalize and tax" all the time and from economists but this is from 81!
Speaking 20 years ahead of his time, and does not seem "political" but more so just doing stuff. Fuck the BS just get things done, do what makes sense.
Hm. I recently experienced psilocybin magic mushrooms and had an amazing time. Learned a lot about myself and the world around me. How is that bad Zappa...
Frank would have loved the internet. As a fellow news junkie, you are opened to a diversity of news not found in TV or any other restrictive-government sanctioned media.
WTF???? I went to school with Ash's son and know him pretty well. I know his dad as well. Used to be mayor of Phoenixville. Never knew this existed. YouTube rules!
The Gov't regulates vices and collects taxes on them ( Lotteries, cigarettes, Booze casinos) . Why not hookers, weed, blow etc etc. ? Maybe because Organized Crime keeps it illegal by paying off the politicos.

amen, exactly, but he is too self righteous, and a shallow asshole that he can't see that. And as for smokes and coffee (not that I don't agree with him that these are lesser evils) he just likes the taste, he hasn't a single hint that these are addictions...fucking self righteous prick....
He's no self righteous... People come to him for interviews, and he even says it himself that this is his opinion, and he's not trying to ram it down others throats, he just isn't afraid of speaking from his realist point of view.

Actually, I moved away from P-ville in 1995. The name sounds familiar though.
