every single valve game using the source engine is handled well by 4500mhd, but this isn't. i think that's because all that fog, because in l4d there are lots of fog.

You have a i5 in it, why don't u just emulate the shaders and vertexes? There are programs called SwiftShader and Intel Display Adapter Management Tool.

@joutupp i5 would have Intel HD, not 4500 as the title says, so I'm not sure if that would result in higher performance. I haven't seen too many Intel HD benchmarks, but it doesn't seem like a pushover graphics solution.
