The air quality will also be noticeably improved if done on a wide scale. For the many years it can function, and be maintained along the way, it will reduce the overall consumption total in the end. It will also save money to travel.

2. The recession has caused energy prices to drop, and the recession was in part brought about by high energy prices. We're in a deep recession, and oil is around 60, if the economy picks up, we'll be over 100 in no time.

The air quality will also be noticeably improved if done on a wide scale. For the many years it can function, and be maintained along the way, it will reduce the overall consumption total in the end. It will also save money to travel.

1. I don't think he was blaming bush for high gas prices, I think he's blaming him for doing nothing to address the future problem. Ethanol is cool, but not from corn...
2. The recession has caused energy prices to drop, and the recession was in part brought about by high energy prices. We're in a deep recession, and oil is around 60, if the economy picks up, we'll be over 100 in no time.

Cap and trade does nothing to help the economy, that's for sure. The problem is the dems want alt energy which doesn't work b/c we use too much oil. The repubs want to drill on american soil which doesn't really work b/c we use too much oil. You could do both and it probably wouldn't do too much b/c we use too much oil. I say they slowly tax the heck out of crude and use the money to pay down the national debt. You gotta get people off the stuff and then other solutions start to make sense.

I could care less if you think I'm a commie or a libertarian, I don't think it changes the situation that the US will be destroyed by its debt and high oil consumption. Not to mention the Fed printing dollars like no tomorrow. The government knows it can't pay back the money, so the Fed is using this crisis to inflate the value
