None of us was drunk (because there was no alcohol available there or around the studio's. We've been waiting for more than seven hours, standing at the same square meter, waiting. The singing of "Happy Birthday" was at the right moment, and we were probably the first fans in the world to congratulate Ron on his birthday. There was no time for some depht-talking. And hey, Ron wasn't pissed because we sung. I hope you don't kill someone every year on your birthday... ;-) Enjoy!
The guy is obviously a big fan cuz he knows they rehearsed Ventilator Blues at these rehearsals. Wish they'd pulled it out for the last leg of the tour!!!
No way, the guy was with me in the back of the videohouse studio's and we heared there a version of about an hour of Ventilator blues! We were with four: Niels, Daniel, BV and me.
We 4 were singing ventilator blues in our head instead of happy birthday. The rest was standing for hours in front of the building hoping for signatures (which we also got so what the heck), they were numb from the waiting and even didn't knew they played ventilator blues. Listen to Ronny who asked: "Did you hear that?" He can't understand that we know what they played.
ronnie is really cool in person.he lives not far from me.when i was working in my local rcord store he came just as i was closing up and asked me had i got his own greatest hits, then 20 minutes later he was standing behind me in the local shop and tipped me on the shoulder to say hello again and was i going to a party because i had beer in my hand.haha he's a legend

One of them thanked Ronnie for "Ventilator Blues." I think I hear Mick Taylor sighing in resignation somewhere. :-(

Well . . . maybe. It sounded like he was thanking him for writing it. The irony would be rather funny if it wasn't so sad. :-)

Sad but true, if you sing the happy bitrthday song once, it would be ok, but whining that over and over again. Poor Ronny
