I live in the UK - most American documentaries I watch NORMALLY say at the beginning something like "this Series will be dramatized, unlike the UK".
People watching it want to see the Hosts of the show kick some ass, not fuck up completely in every episode... why would we like that?? No disrespect to either of the fighters.
Well...it thing this video says a lot about NINJUTSU.....13th DAN LMFAO !!!!!! Ok you guys can say....it´s not the art...it´s the martial artist. I also believe in that...but come on...the master chose his best students to represent... ! WOWWW about about some representation to Ninjutsu...! NINJA = Hollywood B Movies
13th dan black belt against some guy who's never tried sword fighting in his life since the age of 6. 13th dan must be about a month's worth of training. and the tactics seem to revolve around uncalculated and random surprise attacks. do you have to be a "15th" dan to know that throwing a bunch of shit at your opponent will give you an edge? i get that people only take ninjutsu for cultural reasons, but doesn't that then make any belt system pointless?
Mmmh, is it possible for a 13th dan lose on your own ground vs a white belt? don't know if the first guy was doing his best (his face didn't show anything), but the second was in oxigen debt, and was pretty bad anyway... :-/
@joelvis65 There are 15 Dans in Ninjutsu. Pretty sure that's more than any other martial art. 10th Dan or higher is master. Then there is the Soke, Masaaki Hatsumi, who is Grandmaster :-)
@TheMaximusprime13 thanks... but in other martials arts like taekwondo and karate, it takes a lifetime (almost 45-50 years) to earn the 8th or 9th dan itself... but these guys dont look a tad over 40 and they have crossed 13th-15th dan.. is it easy to earn black belt degrees in ninjutsu compared to other martial arts?
@joelvis65 No Black Belt is easy. The fact these students have managed to attain their grade so early means they were probably studying from a very young age. Plus, if they were in Japan they were probably studying from the best instructors in the world, including Soke Masaaki Hatsumi himself. Needless to say a talented pupil would advance very quickly. It takes an average of three years to go from beginner to 1st Dan, which is about average time for most martial arts.
Yeah right, a black belt ninjitsu master vs. a white belt newbie.
When this would be a real fight, the ninjitsu master would have beaten him in an instant Annoying feelgood tv series, they just lie for "better" television.
I think the ninjas are just not that good! I think that either they were not trained well because their instructor was afraid that hard training would make them run away or the art itself is crap.
Thanks for the uploads, I thoroughly enjoyed watching those clips 1 thru to 5! Ninjutsu has to be the most intensifying martial art of them all! Not only does it teach you combat, it also teaches mediation, self discipline and mental strength! The general ethos is the mind is the most dangerous weapon of them all!
@SantoryuWazamono well I'm not sure, but I don't think they are supposed to be katana, but tachi. They mention the seam on the wood is the back of the blade.
I think Ninjutsu is good for self defence , but to be a complete street fighter/MMA I would agument it with jujitsu ,all martial arts have good and bad points so mix and match to find what works best for u .The staff work was good .
Back in the early 90's we had two students in my BJJ school who were , at the time, also beginning students at a well known "Combat" ninja school. After 1 month of BJJ training these students were continually defeating the "ninja" black belts in sparring. They soon quit the Ninja school and it was out of business within the year.
They never got really creative in the fight at all. All they did was use the long sword and when their opponent switched it up so did they but that's all.
if the ninja's were to loose after training for so long, to these people who trained just for a few days.. i wouldn't know what to say to that.. its obviously fake....
@noahwic1 what makes you think that, i mean why would they want to be basicly embarrased on national tv on their own art they've studied for years and sum guys studied for a week i mean if u have the ability to destroy sumone in sumthing u should also have the ability to win without having to hurt them too bad or am i wrong?
@ThePopeye90 I think you're absolutely right. I think it was tough on the first ninja to be up against someone that much bigger, plus a beginner might do things differently than you're use to by then.
It will be amazing to learn Bujinkan Ninjyutsu especially if you have experience practicing Jyudou or Jyujyutsu, because Bujinkan can teach you Taijyutsu which is origin of Jyujyutsu. You need to realize that Philosophy of Ninjyutsu is different from those of ordinary Budou or Martial Arts.
With the end of the Edo Jidai (1603CE-1868CE) the Tokugawa Shogunate (Bakufu Gov't) would be no more. The Shogun, Samurai and Ninja would become a part of Nihon no Rekishi or Japanese history. Even though people from all around the world train in the Ninjutsu arts as well as the Samurai arts (Iaido, Jujutsu, Kyodo, Aikijutsu) the class of Japanese warriors are no more, their class ended with the Tokugawa Bakufu.
@MrJWDragon92 ive heard the exact same thing i know this guy whose been doing martial arts for 25 years and yet hes only 5th dan thats a reason i laugh at people who do TKD and are 16 but have 3rd dan
face fight. That doesnt mean a ninja is a worse warrior than the knight altogether, as much as a sniper is good but sucks in a CQB, the ninja is good in assasinations and streetfights and espionage, but not in fencing.
Cause I'm a knight. Thats why.I have smooth techniques and i hold up a proper guard pommel in chest hioght plade pointing diagonaly at opponents eye(and some similar positions)He cant even close in on a knight while holding a blade like that. A longsword can stab too. While its steel is inferior to the katana's it doesnt mean it can cut it up and it is a more practical weapon, with more practical techniques. And if the knight has plate or chainmail on then the ninja is hopeless in a face to
@drterrabyte dnt get it do you? no matter how upgrade a samurai knight or an european knight has in weaponry or armoury. Ninja just keeps developing new ways to tackle and destroy that, just like now on how they inventing new ways to tackle people with guns.
@drterrabyte but would u like to feel the bite of shuriken in your flesh, and as u back away a knife comes out of nowwhere and stabs you. although it only grazed u through ur armor, u realize in 30 seconds that it was poisoned. can ur retarded longsword put up with the rest of the ninja's arsenal? perhaps the shuko, meant to catch ur slowass sword? followed up by blinding powder, and then you get strangled with a chain. The ninjas were anti-knights, meant to fight against the stiff moral code.
Oh and ninjas are good at beating you up but medieval fecing is thrice as effective. A knight would hack a ninja into pieces in 5 secs.(of course in the very much unlikely case of spotting the ninja in time.)
@drterrabyte how can you be so sure that knight would hack ninja into pieces? he doesnt have the same smooth move techniques, so thought out process of defencing and attack i think ninja would win.
I'm sorry, but this is a joke. This is LARPing, not fighting. Compare this to the Fight Quest Episode with Kyokushinkai. It's embarassing. Jissen, the free practical Martial Arts E-Magazine from the UK has an article about martial arts on TV and it mentioned this scene as being a joke, and I now see what they meant. Also, there is NO historical evidence that ninjutusu was ever a "martial art" ie. it was about infiltration, spying etc. not fighting. Read the shoniki etc if you don't believe me!
I've had a lot of success in real life situation with the Bujinkan style. However, I do agree with you that this is NOT Ninjutsu. I've delved a little into the history of it, not as much as many others, however I've come to the conclusion that ninjutsu is not a fighting art at all. As for LARPing... Well, arguments aside, I had learned how to fight as a child by pretending to fight with friends. Carried me far later on in life. Lawlawlawl.
@Cagedand3nRaged Well,I can't argue too much with anything you said there.I'm sure some of it IS effective.Like ANY martial art, it's the fighter that matters, not the style. WIth good attitude, training emphasis etc everything from Shotokan to Wing Chun etc can be v. street effective.I just think these "15th Dans" are in NO way good fighters.I'm only a shotokan nidan, and I'd give em a good go.Its obvious the presenters know it too.Search Anthony Cummins on youtube, he really is good on history :)
I have looked into some of Anthony Cummins videos and it's all very insightful.
Yes, it is very much the fighter. In the end it's not so much what you're training in but rather how you train. :P I find a lot of folks will earn belts in many martial arts but never put their soul into it, let alone practice hard and condition themselves physically.
@DeltaRomeo1989 ur master is actually right.......if a ninja loses, he dies whether suicide or get killed. If a ninja wins, he has no choice but to kill his oponent
@MrJWDragon92 "haha i ment it as in any European martial artist usually makes it up to 6th dan - 7th dan with dedication for example jujitsu or karate or judo, and they would destroy a bujinkan 15th dan"
Indeed. I would actually bet the house on a BJJ white belt beating a 15 dan bujinkan guy.
The fights had a LARP-esque feel to them; especially when the second opponent was using the bo staff... the way he was using it wasn't very technical or powerful; the best part was where he tried to use hand to hand combat.
@MrJWDragon92 "it was really bad, for 12th and 15th dan i expect them to fight like martial arts masters like pei mei off killbill lol"
I think those 15 dans also thought they would fight like that. Problem is when you train in an art that never spars you usually look just as bad as someone with no training at all. Martial arts without sparring is like learning to swim on land.
@Judokkaa No I was saying the opposite, complimenting Judo. Judo is one of the "golden 5" (or something like that) along with Boxing, Muay Thai, Wrestling and BJJ.
u know what this is cool they should do it as a real competition i actually like this plus they dont have to use real swords they can use fake ones daaa so ninjitsu can be cool to compete its awesome
If these black belt dans really used there full speed and strenght they would have cruched them, but they have to be careful not to hit them to hard, ninjitsu is a very dangerous style, so this does not show this style in full blow, unlike what it showed us about krav maga
runies1 Cheat? HAHAHAHAHAHA. If this guy asked you for cash would you hit him in the crotch and run or stick with a flying kick becasue youd rather not "cheat". Genius.
LOulz!!!!!!!!! Ninjers are truly delusional...this douche actually thought that he could take on Chambers hand to hand..that look on his face at the point of Chambers sweep and after Chambers let him up was priceless....I guess being in an echo chamber for long enough you will believe your own garbage.
a martial art that requires cheating to win is a cheap martial art... Tae Kwon Do is by far the cleanest and most challenging of all martial arts, thats why it's an olympic sport... damn this is crap, any moron can use a sword to kill someone.
@Runies1 have you ever actually fought with swords? i study muay thai but i definately don't think this is cheap. its just that its not meant to be head on its meant to kill someone fast and quietly. so in a way it could never be a sport because you would have to kill your opponent
I wonder how bad that ninjutsu guy's ego is tarnished after he got beat in hand-to-hand combat. He probably wanted to see how his training would fair against a real MMA fighter.
Why would you attack an jiu jitsu expert empty handed, when you have a advantage with your sword? Thats like throwing away your gun and box/bite with mike tyson. Not very well process of thought.
13th....15th dan.....???how many are there? O_o

@drterrabyte dnt get it do you? no matter how upgrade a samurai knight or an european knight has in weaponry or armoury. Ninja just keeps developing new ways to tackle and destroy that, just like now on how they inventing new ways to tackle people with guns.
Pfire1 8 months ago
@drterrabyte playing world of warfcraft does not make you a knight
SupremeARA915 6 months ago
@drterrabyte but would u like to feel the bite of shuriken in your flesh, and as u back away a knife comes out of nowwhere and stabs you. although it only grazed u through ur armor, u realize in 30 seconds that it was poisoned. can ur retarded longsword put up with the rest of the ninja's arsenal? perhaps the shuko, meant to catch ur slowass sword? followed up by blinding powder, and then you get strangled with a chain. The ninjas were anti-knights, meant to fight against the stiff moral code.
Superduperanimatorz 6 months ago
Oh and ninjas are good at beating you up but medieval fecing is thrice as effective. A knight would hack a ninja into pieces in 5 secs.(of course in the very much unlikely case of spotting the ninja in time.)
drterrabyte 8 months ago
@drterrabyte how can you be so sure that knight would hack ninja into pieces? he doesnt have the same smooth move techniques, so thought out process of defencing and attack i think ninja would win.

Ninjutsu is crap, unrealistic training. I mean a footballer got the "master" with I dont know how many dans..
bergis81 8 months ago
@bergis81 This is true, but the guy with crap loads of dans always scored the first point.
TheMattyboy741 8 months ago
@TheMattyboy741
True but he did not exactly come across as someone who would be able to handle a real fight.
bergis81 8 months ago
I'm sorry, but this is a joke. This is LARPing, not fighting. Compare this to the Fight Quest Episode with Kyokushinkai. It's embarassing. Jissen, the free practical Martial Arts E-Magazine from the UK has an article about martial arts on TV and it mentioned this scene as being a joke, and I now see what they meant. Also, there is NO historical evidence that ninjutusu was ever a "martial art" ie. it was about infiltration, spying etc. not fighting. Read the shoniki etc if you don't believe me!
skitsystem77 8 months ago
@skitsystem77
Lawlawlawl.
Cagedand3nRaged 8 months ago
@Cagedand3nRaged Well,I can't argue too much with anything you said there.I'm sure some of it IS effective.Like ANY martial art, it's the fighter that matters, not the style. WIth good attitude, training emphasis etc everything from Shotokan to Wing Chun etc can be v. street effective.I just think these "15th Dans" are in NO way good fighters.I'm only a shotokan nidan, and I'd give em a good go.Its obvious the presenters know it too.Search Anthony Cummins on youtube, he really is good on history :)
skitsystem77 8 months ago
@skitsystem77
Cagedand3nRaged 8 months ago
@DeltaRomeo1989 ur master is actually right.......if a ninja loses, he dies whether suicide or get killed. If a ninja wins, he has no choice but to kill his oponent

Yeah... He might be good, but he would never win a fight with a 13th dan. Never.

Ljenkins9000 10 months ago
The fights had a LARP-esque feel to them; especially when the second opponent was using the bo staff... the way he was using it wasn't very technical or powerful; the best part was where he tried to use hand to hand combat.
bbsggnore 10 months ago
@MrJWDragon92 "it was really bad, for 12th and 15th dan i expect them to fight like martial arts masters like pei mei off killbill lol"
I think those 15 dans also thought they would fight like that. Problem is when you train in an art that never spars you usually look just as bad as someone with no training at all. Martial arts without sparring is like learning to swim on land.

@Judokkaa No I was saying the opposite, complimenting Judo. Judo is one of the "golden 5" (or something like that) along with Boxing, Muay Thai, Wrestling and BJJ.
Ljenkins9000 9 months ago
u know what this is cool they should do it as a real competition i actually like this plus they dont have to use real swords they can use fake ones daaa so ninjitsu can be cool to compete its awesome
psychobilly711 10 months ago
If these black belt dans really used there full speed and strenght they would have cruched them, but they have to be careful not to hit them to hard, ninjitsu is a very dangerous style, so this does not show this style in full blow, unlike what it showed us about krav maga
falkon14 10 months ago
actually this is one of the best human weapon final fights I've ever seen. I mean they have ninja weapons, how more epic can you possibly get?

LOulz!!!!!!!!! Ninjers are truly delusional...this douche actually thought that he could take on Chambers hand to hand..that look on his face at the point of Chambers sweep and after Chambers let him up was priceless....I guess being in an echo chamber for long enough you will believe your own garbage.
popasmuerf 10 months ago
a martial art that requires cheating to win is a cheap martial art... Tae Kwon Do is by far the cleanest and most challenging of all martial arts, thats why it's an olympic sport... damn this is crap, any moron can use a sword to kill someone.
Runies1 10 months ago
@Runies1 theres no such thing as cheating in survival
chevygearhead454 10 months ago
@Runies1 have you ever actually fought with swords? i study muay thai but i definately don't think this is cheap. its just that its not meant to be head on its meant to kill someone fast and quietly. so in a way it could never be a sport because you would have to kill your opponent

I wonder how bad that ninjutsu guy's ego is tarnished after he got beat in hand-to-hand combat. He probably wanted to see how his training would fair against a real MMA fighter.
ThePinkMan 10 months ago
Why would you attack an jiu jitsu expert empty handed, when you have a advantage with your sword? Thats like throwing away your gun and box/bite with mike tyson. Not very well process of thought.

Question, if they were training with real ninjas, where the fuck were the smoke bombs and vanishing tricks ? lol
