Yes, biopolymers are the more eco-friendly material, but farming and energy-intense chemical processing means they are dirtier to produce than petroleum-derived plastics..
What we need, is LESS consumerism in general. I agree that bioplastics are better than oil-based plastics, but remember that reduce comes first in "reduce, reuse, recycle."
So many people are unaware that bioplastics even exist. This video is a great way to spread the word that there are alternatives out there - alternatives made from the food that we eat (tapioca, corn, wheat, etc.) that don't harm the environment
I love this video. I hope to see more manufacturers of plastic alternatives taking steps to educate the public about the dangers of plastic. I applaud Cereplast.
This is exactly the type of alternatives we need. No product compromises versus petroleum-based at all while protecting and improving the environment. This is a no-brainer.
The more people continue to use petroleum unnecessarily, the higher the chance there is for more oil spills. Right On CEREPLAST! People vote with what they do every day. How about we vote against oil spills, and be a bit more conscious when buying plastics...
The music and the images mesh perfectly well.

One main Q..... Does cereplast increase breast cancer in women like oil based plastics do
one of leading causes of breast cancer - along with anti-persperients -you know the ones with pink ribbons on them - sick:(
Does any one know?!? and reduce - reuse - recycle is the very best!
****Also, using the same things they use for milk, juices and some organic soup containers - waxed cardboard!!!

BUY BIOPLASTIC NOT PLASTIC! Americans buy an estimated 29.8 billion plastic
water bottles every year. Nearly 8 out of 10 of those end up in a
landfill. And did you know that 60 to 100 million barrels of oil are used each year for the manufacturing of plastic bags alone?!
