This is a fantastic tutorial. i have just bought the lemur and it is quite a complicated thing to set up so thanks for making it so much easier with this vid. More tutorials for us beginners PLEASE!!!
I've played with the APC40, and i must say it's a fantastic controller! The tactile feedback you get with it is fantastic compared to the Lemur. I've tried duplicating the interface, but i'm not experienced in the JazzEditor to duplicate the knobs on it, so my advice would be to keep the APC40 if you're happy with it, and either save up for a Lemur, or consider a Korg Kaoss pad or some other X-Y pad midi controller, as that combined with the APC is like 95% of the Lemur experience. Cheers
Is there any way to use this without a Lemur tablet table thing? I saw your Daft Punk mix and I kinda wanted to play with the software but was hoping to make it more of a hobby then anything, and this particular hobby is too expensive for my blood. XD
I guess what I'm asking for is like a lemur virtual emulator or something. Hell it doesn't even need to be this program I just kinda wana mess with music. Any suggestions anyone?
You unfortunally can't emulate the Lemur, but the Lemur doesn't make any audio by itself, it's just a MIDI controller which i use to control Ableton Live. So my advice would be to download the trial version of Ableton Live and go through all of the built in tutorials. It's a very fun program once you get the hang of it. That's what i did before i got the Lemur, and buying one before you're familiar with Live is something i wouldn't reccomend.
i noticed that when you turn on your lemur it automatically opens one of your templates. when i turn mine on, it's just the lemur home page. how do i get it so that it will turn on and open with one of my templates?
In the template browser, there should be a button next to the close button that says Default or use for startup or something. Sorry to not be of more help, i just can't be bothered to go find my lemur :p
dope! i havent used my Lemur in some time, and when i picked it up the other day, i saw there was a new version & i had forgotten everything i learned. this helped me.
man that's pretty cool u know what i really want to start.....producing.. and all that stuff... mm well can u tell me if is good buy a mac book or mac book pro... and also the lemur...with ableton... im A "N00b" but i Been doing mixes .. with other programs "sorry my English"
Either a macbook or a macbook pro should be fine if you just want to DJ with ableton and the lemur. The lemur is very easy to use with ableton after configurating it.
But i´m wondering about your midimapping (about min 3:00 and 6:20). You route the Input and the Output of one miditarget on the lemur to the same(!) midiport??? wow - up to no good! you should use a different port for IN and OUT on ONE target to prevent Midiproblems.
e.g. Midiyoke1 on IN and Midiyoke2 on OUT (both lemur target 0), then activate in Live Midiyoke2 for IN and Midiyoke 1 for OUT (logically - it flips)
where did u buy it?

Kinda off topic, but what was that song?
Paperbutton9 3 years ago
The first song is So Haunted (WKBDYB? Full Length Edit) - Cut Copy
The second is Echoes (Siriusmo Remix) - Digitalism

I am no where near 3 grand for a Lemur or even a mac. But I'd like to know would the lemur work with any macbook or just macbook pro?
LexOnTheWeb 3 years ago
The Lemur basically works with any computer that has an Ethernet port.
bjarkebech 3 years ago
Very cool, now I'd like 3 Grand and Ableton Live hah

Interesting... it works fine with the JazzDaemon.
My mapping is like this:
Lemur 0 Out > Jazzdaemon 0 in
Lemur 0 In > Jazzdaemon 0 out

You´re right on Mac!
I´m right on PC.
Sorry, didn´t know that there is a difference!

Ahh, that's interesting to know! Take note of this when setting up with PC, thanks for the comment!

Brilliant work. Thank you for taking the time to do this. Trust me... it will help hundreds of new clueless Lemur owners.
