I'm the proud owner of two of these dogs. Gus, the white Bassett/Bulldog at minute 1:03 and Ralph, the black Bassett/Lab at 1:30. Originally I fostered them for Pet Rescue By Judy but ended up keeping them. They love every time we bring another foster dog into the home. When you watch this video, remember that all these pets were at some point abandoned, facing euthanasia. Border Collies and Labs are frequently abandoned because of their energy. Bulldogs and Hounds fill kill shelters. Even the litter of Shih Tzu/Poodles, designer breeds for which pet stores charge $1,200 or more, were pulled from a kill shelter last November. Yes, Judy is that determined! That's why she keeps working to save the pets. We rescued the litter of black puppies from a kill shelter last Thanksgiving ~ Shih Tzu/Poodle mixes. All went to wonderful families, including their Shih Tzu momma. They loved to play with Ralph, my black Lab/Bassett. Gus, my white Bulldog/Bassett,just likes to play. He has the jaws of a Bulldog and the stubborness of a Bassett. But he makes a great mop!!! Rescued pets are the best!!!

We are looking forward to our grand opening in November. Hopefully by then someone will have donated windows, or money for windows, for the cat roomss. Cats need sunlight, and right now we don't have any in their rooms. Spread the word ~ windows.....

According to our local shelter, the number of pets being abandoned is skyrocketing. As a result they are being euthanized faster because of space limitations. A no-kill shelter is needed now like never before!

Actually, Ralph and Gus are so low the to ground I could just put a mophead on their belly's and let them run around! Can you believe that Pet Rescue By Judy rescued them from a kill shelter just before they were put to sleep? There are so many wonderful cats and dogs that get put to sleep every day. We need help now more than ever to save as many as we can. Thanks so much!

With the uncertainty in the economy, we have seen a huge increase in the number of abandoned pets at the same time as we have seen a decline in donations. Ihave started reading a book entitled "The Hidden Life of Dogs." I recommend it. My understanding grows.

Whenever I observe the two border collies- Tinsel and Reckless- chasing each other (and all of the other things they do- earlicking,etc...), I get a heightened awareness of the behavior of dogs. Those dogs are a hoot!!!

Ralph and Gus are cool, no matter what people think! I met Judy for the first time, last Sunday. She's the real deal. I can see now why she has so many volunteers working so hard for her, to make her dream come true.

I love this video! Of course, I'm not bias ~ my two dogs are in it. Gus is the white Bassett/Bulldog being dragged around by my son. Ralph is the black Bassett/Lab babysitting the puppies. Both were fosters who ended up sticking around permanently. We could never have rescued all the pets we have without the support of the community. We are more excited than ever, now with a kennel.
