Do you chill the cake before you put on frosting?

Because if the cake is even a little bit warm the frosting could melt and get runny. If that's the problem, put in the fridge until it's a bit cold.

But if you are using a lot of liquid coloring, then you should look for some gel food coloring, it's much better for cakes, because it doesn't ruin the consistency.

awesome dinosaur, i attempted to make this one day and i didn't use betty crocker icing. i used the sugar-powder one that you mix in with food colouring. the dinosaur failed, note to self: always use betty crocker icing :P

My dad's birthday was this April and every since he was a little kid he always loved dinosaurs. After my youngest sister and I saw this tutorial for this cake, we need EXACTLY what we wanted to do for our dad's birthday surprise. So we made this cake (using some different candies and blue frosting), and surprised with it. It made me smile and cry knowing that we worked hard just make him this awesome cake.
