BF 3 on Xbox360 on 2 DVD's is a gimped down version. LA Noire on Xbox360 on 2 DVD's is a gimped down version. Mass Effect 2 on Xbox360 on 2 DVD's is a gimped down version. I own those games to my PS3 on only 3 Blu-ray discs in total and with three times better scratch protection. While the Xbox360 gimps own this same games on 6 DVD disc in total with no scratch protection at all on those discs and even their beloved consoles having the ability to eat discs. Only gimps would say that to be OK.

Bf3 is gimped on both consoles (because it's lead platform was the PC) and Mass Effect 2 and LA Noire are pretty much the same whether you play them on 360 or PS3 other then the disc swapping. hate is to break it to you but blu ray has been for the most part irrlevevant this generation 360, Wii, and even the PC have been getting by just fine with DVDs The Ps3's blu ray drive is too slow for developers to really utilize it..

That would been making it possible for third-party developers to climb up from the last-gen to the real next-gen. The fact is that the PS3 and especially the PS3 exclusive game developers have already started to explore the real or current next-gen. When Xbox720 comes out, it damn better have Blu-ray or other HD media with storing capacity on 50Gb/disc.

If Sony decides to not sell the license to use the Blu-ray technology to Microsoft. Then I really hope, Microsoft goes with their own HD-DVD on the new Xbox720. If not. Then I really can't see Xbox720 to be inside of the frames to be called for a next-gen console. It would be like today. That Xbox360 actually still being in last-gen.

But either have it been envolving for the game industry to keep games inside of the size of max 2 DVD's (17Gb), like instead both consoles would been going with 50Gb Blu-ray. Bigger disc space, equals more of content. More content, equals a better games without content removed from the games because the lack of disc space. But if you keep the game developing inside of the frames of Halo and Gears of War, then it doesn't really matter.

mandatory installs of data that is on the disc on to the ps3 hdd for it to load quicker but even more worse is what they did to metal gear solid 4, not only a forced install but they had to duplicate copy and paste the exact same data multiple times on the same disc so that the lens doesn't travel so much.
By doing this they had no space for mgo, so now u need to spend 1hr downloading it.

If Sony decides to not sell the license to use the Blu-ray technology to Microsoft. Then I really hope, Microsoft goes with their own HD-DVD on the new Xbox720. If not. Then I really can't see Xbox720 to be inside of the frames to be called for a next-gen console. It would be like today. That Xbox360 actually still being in last-gen.

But either have it been envolving for the game industry to keep games inside of the size of max 2 DVD's (17Gb), like instead both consoles would been going with 50Gb Blu-ray. Bigger disc space, equals more of content. More content, equals a better games without content removed from the games because the lack of disc space. But if you keep the game developing inside of the frames of Halo and Gears of War, then it doesn't really matter.

MS(Xbox360) AND Sony(PS3) are slowly being outdated, i am in the process of building a future proofed PC (as much as i can) (PC and PS3 user i am), and it will be a time before PS4 and Xbox1440 arrive(they need to double up) :), plus by then i will be playing PS3 emulator on my PC :) waiting for new technology(PS4) :), so BOTH MS AND SONY can kiss my ass for now :) (Core i5 2500K and a decent graphics card kicks BOTH these consols asses) :)

well considering SMPTE 421M is or as its previous name VC-1 codec is on bluray and widely known as a product of microsoft, I doubt sony will actually start making profit off microsoft.

That myth was invented in little forums with 9 year old little gamers.
Sony simply gambled by putting it on their ps3, they were the first to bring it to the market so it gave the illusion that they invented it.

mandatory installs of data that is on the disc on to the ps3 hdd for it to load quicker but even more worse is what they did to metal gear solid 4, not only a forced install but they had to duplicate copy and paste the exact same data multiple times on the same disc so that the lens doesn't travel so much.
By doing this they had no space for mgo, so now u need to spend 1hr downloading it.
bluray is good but not the solution to space, mgo proved it

sony never copied the eye toy from the sega dream eye.
it also never copied the new playstation LIVE area from xbox LIVE.
oh and it never copied pocketstation from dreamcast vmu, Lets not forget it never copied trophies and such.

unfortunately you may be right which sucks for me in my opinion.
I see no way of benefiting from digital distribution except for one very rare scenario.
My house burns down, I escape the flames, I survive and I get to recover all my games via the recover gamertag process on a new console.
other than that forgetting passwords and hacked emails and stuff makes me losing my library/investment way too easy.

I agree on the part of the blu ray. A lot of them hated it saying blu ray sucks, and now they are asking and happy that it might get blu ray. I also hear that a lot of the xbox users want things that the ps3 already has. Like free internet, free use of apps. free online, blu ray and all that stuff.

Sony also is part owner of DVD, that doesnt mean ms bowed to sony with the xbox 360.
The bluray association birthed 9members, now its like 19 or 20.
